From the bottle, the ale poured a dark copper color producing a white head with a few large bubbles. The lacing on the sides of the glass was modest at best. The nose on this one is huge. One detects citrus notes of grapefruit, pineapple, and grass. In the initial taste, one detects a peppery citrus sensation immediately. Accompanying notes include sour grapefruit on the sides of the tongue, orange, grass, and a biscuity malt backbone. The peppery grassy sensation takes over in the aftertaste and warms the back of the throat. Alcohol becomes a little more prominent in the aftertaste. The one disappointment I have is that the mouthfeel runs a little too thin for a DIPA. I want this one to last a little longer. This is a good one.
