Pours a brilliant medium copper with a solid one inch frothy khaki head that slowly dissipates, leaving sheets of lacing.
Citrus fruit, pine, and resin jump from the bottle before the beer is poured. Pine and catty hops dominate the aroma, with strong grapefruit and pineapple accompanying fresh cut grass and toasted malt. Lime and dank hops emerge. It's truly a hop explosion.
Citrus undertones of grapefruit, tangerine, and lime offer relief from a fairly dominant oniony flavor that hits early and lingers into a bready malt and slightly sweet caramel backbone. Bitterness is fairly restrained, but counters the sweetness to dry out the finish. There's a resiny and catty character throughout.
Body is fairly full, with moderate carbonation and a fair amount of alcohol warmth.
Great hop character. The aroma is awesome. Flavor is great, but a little too oniony for my palate. I'm sensitive to simcoe, though. Fairly hot, but not terribly offputting. On the sweet side.
