I really wish people wouldn't take offense to "Looks like an IPA" and calling it a day. maybe they would be ok with it? Anyway your typical gold/straw mixed with orange color. A slight haze but about as clear as any IPA approaching 10% could expect.
Very sharp and citrusy on the nose, almost like there's some pepper in it to give it a bite. A lot of caramel bred in the malt. Smells rather nice.
Very very citrus and there's a heck of a bite to this one. It really has an almost spiced kick with a huge knock you over the head amount of citrus hops. The malt tries to balance things but the lingering bite from this one simply over powers it at the end.
A bit hot, but it drinks well in body and mouth feel.
I've gotten somewhat used to great IPAs that were able to avoid such a harsh bite and was liking them a good bit. I have to say I like this and like the bite though I think I've come to like the almost creamy body that some of the double ipas have gone to.
