Pours a copper color with a two finger head. Retention is merely OK, but there's some pretty nice lacing going on. Aroma is mellow compared to some IPAs, but there's a very nice floral and fruity vibe going on. Mosaic leaves a nice mark here with a ripe, sweet mango note. Citrus notes are there but more restrained than most (D)IPAs. A little bit of earthiness and resin. This is a rare case where a more subdued aroma in an IPA wins me over, as the tropical fruit notes are readily apparent and not hidden.
Flavor is malty sweet and not all that bitter for an IPA. Despite the listed 80 IBUs, this is not a tongue-puckerer. Still, there's more than enough bitterness to stand up to the malt, which has a honeyed character. All the citrus notes you'd expect are present, taking on something like an orange/tangerine character. Alcohol is barely noticeable flavor-wise, just a faint trace on the finish.
With the caramel and honey malts and fruit-forward hop profile, this is an interesting Spring DIPA. In some aspects, that malt profile reminds me of a Maibock, but the hops clearly take it into IPA territory. Nice use of Mosaic hops. Recommended.
