Pours with a finger's height of off-white head on a clear and bright amber beer. Lacing and head retention are good making for an attractive beer.
Lots of hops are in the smell with floral and citrus notes, such as grapefruit. Some bready malts are in there as well for sweetness.
Taste is hop-forward but the malt bill gives it a balance. The main flavors I get are citrus hops, tropical fruit and some sweet honey malt. Packs some alcohol weight with the 9.4 ABV.
The feel is medium-bodied, with rich flavors carrying into the aftertaste. Finishes semi-dry with both hoppy bitterness and some malt/fruit notes for balance.
Overall a really well-crafted Double IPA I'm glad to have tried
