Review from notes taken 2+ months ago. Growler shared by Kegatron - thank you Heath. Pours a clear copper with orange clarity around the edges. An off-white cap rests atop and slowly fades.
The aroma includes notes of pine and juicy fruity hops. A very well blended nose has hints of maltiness and fruity alcohol esters but the primary focus is the hops which are fresh and inviting.
Surprisingly, for the aroma being primarily focused on hops, the taste opens up with caramel and candy-like malt sweetness. Hops come into place secondary wity a resinous pine bite, some herbs and fruity/floral aspects towards the finish.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. Pretty solid stuff here most noteable due to freshness. I believe this is the most hoppy offering I have had by Great Lakes and while it was good, it seemed a little malt heavy.
