Presentation: Awesome label in the traditional GLBC style with great colors and eye-catching graphics. Neck label has GLBC logo and gives a small description of the beer. Main label has ABV info, small description of the beer, Enjoy by Date(4/20/13), brewery info, web info, serve by temp recommendation. 25th Anniversary Cap.
Appearance: Allowed this to warm for 10min before pouring from its 12oz bottle into a 16oz snifter. Pours out a slightly hazy copper amber color with a 1½ finger golden white foam head of a lighter airy density. Head retention was a solid 2min 13sec before fading to a thin foam coating and thick ring. Excellent lacing.
Smell/Aroma: Smells of sweet orange citrus with hints of pineapple. Also has an earthy piney hop scent with a spicy bite. Alcohol is only slightly noticeable.
Flavor/Taste: Taste is floral and piney on the front end turning to a citrus fruity hoppiness with hints of tropical fruits. The mid point turns spicy with a bit of bite. Finishes with a honey and caramel taste with a definite breadyness. Has a bitter aftertaste. Alcohol is undetectable.
MouthFeel/Drinkability: Medium bodied and smooth with a nice amount of carbonation. Very drinkable.
Overall/Comments: An excellent offering by GLBC. The flavor profile on this beer is extraordinary and the aroma compliments if very well making it dangerously drinkable!. Consumed 3/19/13. Classified as an American Double/Imperial IPA at 9.4% ABV.
