Single bottle (best by 09/13/10) poured into a tulip.
Appearance: Hazy golden yellow. White (1/4") foam upon pouring dies down to foam across the top with plenty of lacing on the walls of the glass as I drank it down.
Smell: Bready/yeasty flavors combined with fermented grape/alcohol smells - a bit sweet in those grape/alcohol smells. Maybe a hint of orange peel in there (more noticeable upon swirling the beer in the glass). I'm not detecting the other herbs and spices (coriander and chamomile) listed on the bottle. Despite this, it's quite appealing.
Taste: There is a bready/yeasty flavor at first, followed a quick hint of sweet malt and then a mild bitter finish. There is an aftertaste which may be the coriander/chamomile but I'm not sure. Sadly the carbonation seems to prevent me from really tasting the beer much - I try and then it gets blocked. Crisp is about the best I can describe the whole experience.
Mouthfeel: Well carbonated - quite spicy on the tongue. Goes down easy - not at all watery.
Drinkability: The high carbonation does a great thing when the beer is drank with a meal - it cleans the palate completely. When I had this in a shaker pint I think I got more of the flavor, but overall - I find this is a one a time beer. It is refreshing and goes great with a meal, and maybe even for savoring slowly - but just one. After that I'm done. I'm not complaining mind you - it's good, just not "give me another one right now!" or "I wish this would never end" good.
