What can I say about this place? It is no secret that I love every beer I have ever had by Great Lakes. The thing that keeps me coming back to the brewery time and time again more than anything else is so that I can try the on-tap "pub exclusives." I was there recently and had some BA Blackout Stout. There are usually total of 8 beers available on tap, the 5 regulars that are always available, the seasonal, and 2 pub exclusives. Well sometimes there are only 7 available because they run out of one of the "pub exclusives." You can get 6 packs, seasonal 4 packs, and limited edition bombers (when available) to go from the gift shop as well as shirts, beer glasses and other cool swag. The atmosphere is certainly friendly. My friends and I like the basement pub area the best. Down there you can also see some of the huge vats the beers are brewed/fermented in. It has brick walls and that old feel to it. All the beers are of course of exceptional quality. I have only had a real meal there once before and the pub grub is pretty good too and not too pricey (I highly recommend the Brewer's Barley Pretzels and the Sausage Sampler). As of the time of this review this brewery is ranked #3 overall by this site and with good reason. The beer prices are quite reasonable but the food is a bit overpriced IMO. Of course there are happy hour specials too. One reason why I am proud to be a Clevelander. We have some of the best beer in the world right here in our own backyard. Make sure you stop off here for a visit if you are passing through Cleveland.

This is one of my favorite (if not favorite) breweries that distributes to many states. I am always impressed by the consistently high quality of their distributed beers and was SO excited to visit them in person on a trip through Cleveland. The brewery itself was a bit of a let down. They didn't have much on tap that I can't get in bottles several states away.

Very nice facility - the main bar is very classic, as well as historic. The overall feel is very pleasant, with a number of different rooms for dining. the staff was very attentive and helpful. The food was excellent, and the beer even better.

This place could use some updating. There is a way to keep the old school feel and still clean it up a bit. The food menu is just ok and the beer menu typically offers few brews that aren't readily available in bottle format. Not bad but there are better places to go.

Myself and 2 friends made the long ride from Philly to Cleveland after I won a contest from Mad Mex for an overnight stay along with a tour and dinner from Great Lakes.
Even on a busy Saturday night, we were seated quickly and our waitress was friendly and efficient. This was not biased by any special treatment as all I had was a gift card to use for dinner. We all got samplers of beers we hadn't tried after the tour. Everybody enjoyed their meal as well. Everyone I dealt at Great Lakes with prior to our trip was also super nice and accommodating. It's a long way to go, but if I find myself with a reason to be in Cleveland agian, I wouldn't hesitate to go here again.

I love the downstairs "dungeon" style set-up, lots of brick and wood. Solid beers available, but not much beyond their year round offerings, wish they had a little more. I didn't have any food so unfortunately can't rate anything there.

Almost always busy, but they have a unique selection of foods on their menu and have a few brews that are only available on tap at the bars (one in the basement, main level, and top level). Staff is friendly and willing to let you try samples if you ask politely and they're not swamped. Parking can be hit or miss but it's not too bad, and is nice that it's located across from the West Side Market so you can wander around after your meal and check out all the fruit, bakery and meats (some of which is used at the GLBC restaurant).
