Very good selection, competitive pricing and good, but sometimes inconsistant help make Total Wine a winner and frequent stop. I like to mix and match six packs to try new stuff and can spen a long time there, putting together an sampler. It does not have the personal touch of a corner bottle shop, but I find nothing else to quibble about.

Great spot, great location and a good list of beers! this total wine tends to have more of the new releases as well as the main beers everyone loves! i do wish that total wines had more of a micro brewery selection. But i mostly go to the neighborhood beer stores to find special/rare beers. good spot if your just in town looking to get some good relatively inexpensive beer.

This Total Wine is great. They have a great, well organized bottle selection and probably the best selection of bombers of all the Total Wine’s in Raleigh. I have been able to find some great beers here including Avery Mephistopheles, the entire New Belgium Lips of Faith series, and a number of Dogfish Head bottles that other places don’t seem to carry such as the Red & White. On several occasions the staff has approached me to ask if I need help. They are great about checking the availability of different beers, and they will even walk you to the bottle if it’s in stock. On one occasion I walked in with a grocery list of 24 individual beers, and the manager (whom I had met on a previous occasion) browsed the shelves with me to put my list together. On that day they had 20 of the 24 beers on the list. If you’re in the Brier Creek area, I recommend stopping by.

Like many other total Wine stores that I have been to in Virginia this is pretty much a solid carbon copy of them, with the exception of finding a few North Carolina brews available.
Quality is good with a mamoth selection of imports and exports, however it contains the same as many other Total Wine locations that I have been to.
Once again you can buy singles as well, but there could be some more bombers here than I was hoping to find. Prices are also quite reasonable compared to other places I have been to out of state.

I go to the North Hills location at least once a week and was pleasantly surprised yesterday to find the entire beer section re-arranged. Not only that, but they have a TON of new beers on the shelves. I talked with a distributor, and she said all of the Total Wine stores in the area are revamping their beer aisles. She also mentioned that the staff at the Durham location is especially beer savvy. I've been disappointed in the beer knowledge of the North Hills staff, so if you're looking to really talk beer with someone, it sounds like the Durham store is the place to go.

This place has one of the best selections of beer that I have seen. I often go there at lunch just to beerowse their selection! There is always someone that is more than ready to help find a particular beer (or wine). I have not spoken to a person that was extremely beer savvy, but they are knowledgeable all the same.
I originally went in for a bottle of wine (although I prefer beer) but happily left with a good selection of different beers. Just moving to North Carolina, I really didn't expect there to even be a selection of beer there due to the name of the place and the stories I have heard (years ago) that there were not such places here. I am glad I was proved otherwise.

I have visited other Total Wines in Charlotte but this is the first one I hit in Raleigh. About what I had expected from the other Total Wines, this place has a great selection of single bottles and six packs. Although they have a lot of locally brewed stuff they have the usual suspects, ie Heavy Seas, Terrapin, Dogfish. They also have some unusual canned beer called Old Chub and various others. Obviously geared more toward wine this place is a solid when you need to pick up a mixed 6 pack. The service is pretty good as well and the prices are right on par in my opinion. Decent place to buy some brew

This is the TW location I visit most often, even though there is one fairly close to where I work (it's just in the opposite direction from 'home'). They always seem to have a large selection of the widely available craft and micros, but they're rarely "first to market" with the stuff that is new to NC (Stone was an exception).
They do a decent job of representing NC breweries, carrying the full spectrum of Duck-Rabbit year-rounds and the current seasonal (except they're late with the Wee Heavy Scottish Ale this year), several Carolina Brewing Company and Highland offerings.
During the summer, when I wanted canned offerings, they were often out of Oskar Blues Old Chub and Dale's Pale Ale, as well as Top of the Hill IPA (they did have Leaderboard Lager, but that's not my beer style of choice). Don't know if that's because they have high turnover and small allotments, or just don't carry much of it at all.
Lately, when I've been "in the mood" for something special, I've been disappointed and left empty handed (case in point, no DR WHSA the last time I went in). I think part of my disappointment is that they don't carry many special releases, mostly year-round and standard seasonals. All in all, it's a decent store, but nothing special.

This location has a very similar selection to the Cary location. This one seems to have a slightly better inventory turnover however. Like the Cary location, they also sell just about every beer they carry in single bottles and offer a slight discount if you purchase a case. The service is always friendly, and while I have not needed help at this location, I can imagine they are just as helpful and knowledgeable as at the Cary location. While not exactly a beer destination like Sam's or The Good Beer Store, this is a good place to stop in while in the area.
