A: pours with a medium light body, crimson black in color with a 2 inch thick quickly dissipating khaki head
S: has depth of aromas, the pumpkin spices definitely come out more abundantly with this one, along with some strong roast malt to help with the balance.
T: I like when a beer taste like it smells when its something with a more substantial flavor and complexity, I also like when a beer surprises me with pleasant flavors, which this one does greatly .The taste is spot on with the aromas, pumpkin spiciness with some allspice, nutmeg, cardamom but not overpowering by any means, balanced perfectly by the roasted malts (i'm not a big fan of pumpkin beers either) but then there is an awesomely surprising slight but apparent smokiness!? reminds me of a perfect fall night around a campfire with friends which would be wonderfully glorious while drinking this liquid gold. awesome.
M: same as the "he said" tripel, pleasant, low carbonation medium body.
O.A. definitely like the Baltic porter much more than the tripel in this four pack but like I said, I love the idea of two completely different beers in a single four pack, its like a mini sampler! love it!

Poured into a standard pint glass a deep dark chocolate brown with a thinner but pretty well susteined tannish colored head atop.Spiced aromas like nutmeg, mace, and cinnamon, with some roast and a tinge of iron.A little fizzy to me in the mouth and some what light as well.Flavors of pumpkin and spice with nutmeg and cinnamon standing out mainly,a little chocolate roast round out the palate.I like the concept of this beer but it's lacking a little.

12oz can with a freshness date on the bottom.

More of a Porter than a pumpkin ale, that is the tone here. Spiced out like a fall/winter brew with some vagueness to where this is all going. Thankfully the Porter side of it all helps keep things together even if this beer is just pretty good.

LOOK: Chunky head, good trail of lacing, black in color

SMELL: Burnt wood, charred grain twang, vague spice, alcohol, chicory

TASTE: Roasted grain, very warming alcohol, perfume flair, cedar, caraway seed, mild cinnamon, burnt currants, pumpkin?, long roasty finish, semi-dry, lingering roastiness and spice

12 ounce can, canned on 09/09/13, according to the info on the bottom ...

Pours darn near black, with a medium mocha and long lasting head, that slowly goes to fine and coating low sheeting and fine fields of scattered lacing. Nice looking beer.

Dark malts and lite chocolate on the nose.

Smooth and tasty on the tongue, I get more lite chocolate, dark malts and just a hit of the advertised "pumpkin and spices". Much better then the He Said Tripel, this one is a nicely crafted porter with subtle spicing and smooth malty/chocolate notes.

Worth a try. Quality beer in a can = good stuff

Appearance: 1 inch head, clear, dark brown in color, high carbonation

Smell: roasted malt, cream, clove, and pumpkin seed

Taste: dark and sweet chocolate, cream, cinammon, clove, and pumpkin pulp that is present towards the end.

Mouthfeel: sweet and roasty, medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation

Overall: I was thinking I was going to like the tripel better, but I actually found this to be the better of the two beers. This is not as pumpkin forward as some other pumpkin beers I have had, but the base Baltic porter is really tasty. I would get this again.

Dark nearly pitch black body, nice head formation with creamy tan colored head, which leaves behind speckled lacing in even patterns. Aroma dark roasted malts, a hint of pumpkin spice, raisins/plums other ripened or dried dark fruits. The spice is very minimal with pumpkin notes in the finish upfront dark chocolate, roasted malt character with a hint of coffee and dark fruit especially raisin notes. Mouthfeel texture wise silky smooth even flowing carbonation medium to full bodied really nice light spice finish which doesn't linger, absolutely no alcohol burn at all very smooth. Overall impressed with this offering, I'm glad I picked up a can of each to try the He Said, he Said combo!

This beer is a very dark brown color, fairly thick, and exactly what I expect from a Baltic Porter. The head is a faintly yellow-tinted tan and rests at almost precisely one finger's height. Retention is good, and a mixture of patching and spotting is in plenty.
There's a baking chocolate undertone in the malts, with plenty of roast and a little bit of sweetness. Otherwise, pumpkin spices are nicely strong but held in check. There's definitely distinguishable pumpkin flesh in here, too. It's a good balance of very lightly sweet against boldly roasty and lightly bitter. Somewhat leafy/floral hops notes are light, as is a sort of earthier bitterness, working nicely to add depth and complexity to an otherwise stragithforward version of a pumpkin-based porter, though not traditional as far as Baltic Porters go.
The feel is even and smooth in a medium body but a little leaner on the tongue than I had expected. It has a light crispness to it as well.
