3.48/5  rDev -9.6%
look: 3 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Hazy orange/pale color. Bright white head. Some floating sediment(which is unappealing in this beer).

Aroma: They say it uses six different finishing/dry hops. Definitely getting Centennial. The sweet candy-like notes are there from that hop. A little pale malt underneath the heavy dose of hops.

Taste: Big hop flavor and bitterness up front. Transitions into a good malt presence while maintaining that bitterness for the most part and then finishes smooth. Not a big fan of the candy-like sweetness in here from some of the hops, it takes away from some of the bitterness without adding any real flavor. Since 21st Amendment calls this a West Coast IPA I was hoping for more tropical fruit or at least some citrus. Instead, there is only an obscure sweet flavor from the hops. Also some heat from the alcohol and a nice hint of pine. Forgoing the unwanted sweet flavor, the hops and malt are very well balanced.

Mouthfeel: Good level of carbonation and medium bodied. No complaints here.

Final Thoughts: This one tastes/drinks more like an English IPA and had it been labeled as such probably would have been rated a little higher. If that's your thing then this one is for you. However, if you are looking for the grapefruit or more tropical flavor then this beer will let you down. Would I buy it again? Perhaps. It wouldn't be unwanted as part of a sampler pack.

12oz canned on 1/27/14, poured into an IPA glass.

A - Light gold, 1 inch head with solid lacing.

S - Light tropical fruit with a touch of honey.

T - Very balanced hop profile. Mild pine, grassy and fruit with a breakfast cereal backbone. Mild bitterness.

M - Milky, moderate body with excellent carbonation.

O - Overall a solid IPA, but nothing that would make me revisit over other options available on the shelf.

Thanks to Marco_Gtz for this one.

Poured from a 12oz can, canned on 12-09-13.

A fairly clear, light gold body, spotted lacing with always a good thick foam. Aroma is zesty oranges and pears. Flavor is more malt heavy with some cedar bitterness. Ok but pales in comparison to its CA counterparts.
