Cool looking can with wacked out Mt. Rushmore. Very attractive hue of bright copper and sticky white lace. Nose is typical of California brewed american pales with piney, citrus, floral and grassy hops. Not offensively bitter but definitely follows the script.

Flavor is strong initially, if a litle maltier and more balanced than I expected. The bottom says this was canned 37 days ago but something is a little off. There's a hint of metal in the finish, followed by a little yeasty thing. The aftertaste recovers, with some toasted an biscuit flavors to match the hops. Certainly a servicable IPA but nothing worth writing home about

A= A very nice golden orange, pour from the can into a pilsner glass. Great packaging!

S= great aroma. Smells of pine and some lemon.

T= Strong hop taste instantly in the mouth. Nice malt backbone that I wasn't expecting. .

O= This is a very good IPA that leans more towards the malty side. Reminds me of Hoptober from New Belgium which is one of my favorites. I would buy this again.

12oz can

A- Pours a relatively clear orange/gold color with a thick white foam head that leaves good lacing.

S- Plenty of hops in the nose giving off some light citrus and pine aromas.

T- Pine hops initially with a touch of alcohol and light caramel malt in the finish. Resiny hop flavor throughout with maybe a hint of grapefruit.

M- Medium bodied and good carbonation.

O- Overall a very solid IPA but doesn't quite have the umph to match up against the big boys.

Poured a finger and a half of frothy off-white head over an orange-yellow body. A slow, steady stream of carbonation rises to the top. Good lacing noticed.

Good citrus body to the smell entwines with a lighter floral aroma. A little bready malt comes through in the background upon searching.

The hops feel generic running over the tongue. I get grapefruit and pine, then just generic bitter with no real character. It is well balanced with the malt though.

Medium bodied, this beer felt creamier than I liked for the style compared to the ABV. If it's going to be that creamy, I would rather get another point or 2 on the ABV.

A: a blondish hued brew with an ample sized head off the initial pour. good retention and lacing so far.

S: aroma is what an AIPA should be. very much on the sweet citrus side of the hop family. notes of kiwi's sneak there way in there. a sort of toffee-caramel note lingers towards the finish.

T: nice and fruity hop start transitions into a seriously sweet malty body. great balance between the two. having the sweetness on the tail-end/finish of this brew makes this IPA rich and tasty.

M: a moderate amount of fizz on a definitely medium bdoy.

D: love drinking a good IPA from a can. a well balanced brew from 21st that i wish was a little cheaper. however, worth grabbing if it is in your local market.

I poured this one into a shaker pint.

Appearance- The body is a deep gold with copper highlights. There are some slow bubbles rising to the bright white cap.

The head got to about a finger with some sporadic bubbles in the cap. The head is thick and smooth with decent retention, just a little bit of sheet lace on the side of the glass.

Smell- A little bit of floral hop that is paired with some resin. It is the floral character that permeates the drink. Other IPA's have bigger noses, and it would be nice if these flavors were a bit bigger.

Taste- This one really kicks the palate around with its hop-bitterness, which is surprising for only being 70 IBU's. The biscuit and cracker-like malt stands out well after a couple of sips, and is a nice sweet addition to the beer.

The hops have the same floral character from the nose and a slight peppery quality. The finish is long and slightly grassy with some pine. This IPA strikes a nice balance between the bitter hops and the malt.

Mouth feel- A nice medium body that does a good job of of being creamy. There is a some slight fizziness on the tongue, but it is not overdone.

Overall- The hop profile leans heavily on bittering and floral notes, and sometimes, it is a nice change to not have a citrus or pine bomb. However, I think that the hop profile could be bigger than what it was.
