Alewife and I tried this on our first visit to 21st last week.... They're info says it's "Brewed for the Brewing Network's First Anniversary from Brewcaster Daniela's homebrew recipe." 6.5% abv and 28 IBUs. We both enjoy bocks, so why not, eh?
Poured a medium golden hue, and was clear within, with steady carbonation rising upwards. Head topping things off was thin, wispy and white, leaving decent lacing in the glass. Aroma was light, with a hint of breadiness and floral hops wafting about. Medium bodied this bock was, with a touch of prickliness attacking the tongue. Good mouthfeel, in general, though.
First sip seemed decidedly un-bocklike. 'Twas bready, with light sweetness, crisp and dry. No where near enough malt to satisfy my bock cravings. Floral hops were again present with mild bitterness. Came across, to me, as more like a Muncih Helles than a Hellbock. Still fairly good, but not exactly what I was expecting. Alewife had a couple, though she also found it a tad sub-par.
