This American session ale packs a lot of hop and malt flavor into a refreshingly lower-alcohol brew, making it the perfect beer to have on hand when you have a little history to make.

Had this from a can in 2013.

S: light, bitter grapefruit smell

Well, let me put it this way, Bitter American certainly lives up to it's name! To be honest though, the bitterness is what makes this beer. The taste is truly unique to the beer.

Golden color, good clarity, 1/2" white head. Hops provide a metallic light edge, grapefruit, bitter.
More bitterness but appropriately placed and quantified. Grapefruit, lightly toasted pale malts. Simple. Effective. Manages a high degree of flavor on a light body. They really should bring this one back.

Poured from a can into a glass (so many previous dittoes, never again).

Perhaps the perfect session ale. It's tinted darkly, and it smells like hops. Loads of dank American hops. After the nose, the taste is a bit of a shock. The first thought is thin, but not it's not *thin* it's just not incredibly boozy. The taste is rooted in a surprisingly robust maltiness and laced with piney hops all along the flavor. Highly recommended.
