Drinking my first beer from 21 amendment... Not happy. Might as well of cracked a bud light open. Lacked personality, flavor, bite, and so much more. Looks like they mashed a few old watermelons and hoped for the best. (222 characters)

Nearly clear golden yellow with a pile of suds and lots of lacing in the tall Blanche de Chambly glass. Slightly tangy with a persistent but mild flavort of watermelon. Some wheaty taste with a malty flavor. Light bodied but silky on the tongue.

Clean, refreshing, with a flavor of cucumber when you take a sip, followed by the watermelon aromatics. Warm with just a touch of sweetness. I don't know why this is hated so much, by some anyway. But then I hate cinnamon in beer. Thoroughly drinkable. From the 12 oz can purchased at Whidbey Beer Works in Oak Harbor, Washington. (577 characters)

L: Hazy straw under a 1” quickly disappearing white foam cap.
S: Light watermelon, fruit, wheat, not a big nose.
T: Starts with a fruit palate and then the watermelon bursts through with some wheat, moderate sweetness and a bitter finish.
F: Creamy, light, refreshing, above average carbonation.
O: I can’t drink a lot of this at one time. Its odd but it somehow works. They deserve some points for creativity. (418 characters)

On tap, fresh with a mild watermelon flavor, not overwhelming at all. Im a big fan of watermelon so many in bias but this is a solid beer with a nice crisp clean finish. (169 characters)

Was actually looking forward to trying it. Kept hearing this was their cool, go to beer... No way. Watermelon rind with domestic lager finish. Grab a Brew Free or Black in Black, those are solid beers. (201 characters)

Quick notes:

Pale yellow brew topped by a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is light and bright: yeast, wheat, pale malt, a touch of citrus, and on the very back-end, watermelon.

Flavor follows, with a much more noticeable, nearly vegetal watermelon presence. Green and sweet.

Very drinkable and smooth; light and lively.

This beer is exactly what it's advertised to be. It's a decent wheat beer with a noticeable watermelon flavor. If that's not what you like, you definitely will not like it. (495 characters)

Really refreshing beer. I can sit back and throw down multiples of these on a nice summer day. There is a hint of watermelon on the nose. The finish is where the watermelon really shows up. It's not forward or subtle but you get the watermelon. Tasty stuff. (257 characters)

Pours an appealing bright yellow. Don't really get much on the nose. Watermelon definitely there on first taste, but it has an effect of almost making this beer seem watered down. Overall a refreshing beer that will do the job on a hot summer day. (249 characters)

a- a slightly cloudy light yellow. 1.5 inch white head. Disipated quickly. No lacing
S- smells like beer with slight watermelon scent nothing overwhelming.
T - more of a candy watermelon taste then a real watermelon imo. I liked it though but not all the time. I would have one here and there. But only ice cold on a hot day outside. Which it would be perfect for.
M- nothing overwhelming here either. It's a clean beer taste. With some watermelon left behind.
O- it's a beer for a summer day on a patio. Not a beer I think BA users would love. More of a beer for the masses I'd say.
Another note- don't let this effect your thoughts on this brewery. I love there other beer. Back in black black ipa, brew free or die ipa, and the down to earth session ipa, are all great. (784 characters)

I bought this for kicks and giggles. It was $1.50 for a single can so I figured, why not?

It looks pretty good, it smells decent, but that's about where it ends for me. The watermelon taste is subtle, however the other flavors balancing it out just don't work for me. It goes from a subtle sweetness to an almost pale ale bitterness in just one sip. It's impossible for me to really pinpoint all the flavors going on here but I don't like any of them.

This is certainly an interesting concept. I happen to love watermelon, but I feel this beer didn't do the flavors any justice. (581 characters)

I was pleased to find that this beer does indeed taste like watermelon, and not something with artificial "watermelon flavor" added for the sake of making it sweeter and more appealing, as happens with candy since watermelon itself is so boring. It's light in body and in color, and it's easy to drink. I'd recommend it to anyone who asked about it. (349 characters)

This is the best watermelon wheat ever made or even "fruit beer" for that matter. It nails the smooth flavor of a wheat beer and follows it up with a subtle but flavorful watermelon vibe. Not too much, not too little. Just right. Another amazing beer from 21st Amendment! (271 characters)

Pours a hazy gold with eggshell white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of grain and wheat, slightly metallic. Not sure if I'm getting any of the watermelon, maybe faintly. Taste follows the nose, grainy up front with a little watermelon sweetness on the middle of the palate. Finishes slightly metallic. Mouthfeel is on par for a 4.9% wheat beer. Overall, very crushable, drinkable, but not something I would reach for. In terms of a 21st Amendment session beer I will go for Down to Earth. (493 characters)

12 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours yellow with a finger of foam that fades quickly. Aroma is wheaty, grainy, husky, and a hint of watermelon.

Flavor has a nice watermelon presence. Not super sweet, and the wheat malt comes through in the aftertaste. The watermelon flavor is subdued, which is preferable. Very light and refreshing.

Honestly, not a bad summer beer. I'd buy this again if I knew I'd be drinking outside. (432 characters)

Not really a review, just wanted to say a few things. This beer isn't going be a Beer of Fame anytime soon, BUT, I don't think it was brewed with that in mind. It's a fun light bodied beer that goes down smooth, kinda like a session IPA. Go mow the lawn, then knock a few of these back, and you will see what I mean. It's just a fun beer. Props to 21st for doing something different :-)

(ohh, the price is on point too. I think I paid 7.99 at BevMo for a sixer of CANS) (470 characters)

Nice light bodied beer, perfect on a hot summer day. Favorite beer while kayaking. Most can's I've had reminded me of Jolly Rancher's , though the candy like flavor was not as present when I've had it on tap at the brewery. Go Giants! (238 characters)

A - Pours a hazy yellow with a nice white head that dies pretty quickly.
S - Yeasty
T - Definite watermelon notes, a little sour on the finish.
M - Medium mouth feel.
O - This is pretty good, would be enjoyable on a hot summer day. The watermelon flavor is spot on and not overpowering. (287 characters)

Poured into a tasting glass

A - Very cloudy almost lemonade hue (very strange, yet appealing), one finger very white head and little to no lacing

S - Wheat, sugar, watermelon, citrus, hops, malts/grain aplenty, banana, a clear brisk mountain spring morning, slightly floral and bit of a funk

T - Wheat, citrus, watermelon, sugar, seltzer water, slight hops, pretty malty and tastes slightly like candy

M - Medium to full bodied, medium acidity, lightly crisp carbonation, well balanced, ok complexity and a very nice, slightly on the sweet side yet refreshing wheat/citrus/water melon finish

D/O - Very nice, very refreshing and for the wheat and vegetable/fruit lover alike! Drinkable morning, noon or night. Not much for a winter/fall season(s), yet after a nice day of playing ball or hiking (in any weather) this one will quench your thirst!

Final Thoughts - At $9 a six pack this isn't bad at all. The ABV leaves a little to be desired if you're trying to relax. Refreshing is the word that best describes this one. (1,026 characters)

12oz can enjoy by 6/30/15 poured into a pint glass
A: Pale yellow, hazy with a one-finger head that quickly settles
S: Muted. Wheat, a touch of watermelon and a hint of lemon
T: More prevalent watermelon, though to me this tastes more like the rind than the juicy parts. Wheat, herbs and lemon are in the background
M: Light-bodied, a touch bitter given the rind prevalence
O: Usually my favorite bite of watermelon is eating the last bits of flesh off the rind. That being said, the rind being the more distinct taste in a beer doesn't work. I'd prefer this with a bit more sweet watermelon & wheat notes than what it has. Somewhat refreshing but there are numerous other wheat beers I'd drink for refreshment before revisiting this (733 characters)

My wife's favorite beer, hands down. It has wonderful juicy, fruity, authentic watermelon flavor that dominates the taste. Sweet & sugary, with a bit of dry grainy wheat presence on the finish that finishes it off your palette. (229 characters)

12 fl oz. can, with enjoy by date 06/30/2015 printed on the bottom of the can. A new beer to me from 21st Amendment Brewery, finally available in my state. Acquired the six pack from the local beer store.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - It pours a nice golden body, maybe a slight green tint, fairly typical of a wheat beer, with just under a finger of frothy white head. Some scattered spotty lacing left behind.

S - A pretty nice aroma, if a little on the sweet side. A grainy wheat malt / base is noticeable beneath the very prominent authentic watermelon / rind / vegetal presence.

T - Taste is the same: juicy, fruity, authentic watermelon / rind flavor dominates this one. Sweet & sugary, with a bit of dry grainy wheat presence on the finish.

M - The feel is smooth, crisp, clean, and easy-drinking. Light-bodied with excellent carbonation.

Overall, this is the better of the two watermelon beers I've had, although it is a bit sweet, perhaps even a tad cloying if one were to drink too much of this. Definitely not something I would drink quantity of, but I would surely be interested in having it again. Recommended.
