I bought this for kicks and giggles. It was $1.50 for a single can so I figured, why not?

It looks pretty good, it smells decent, but that's about where it ends for me. The watermelon taste is subtle, however the other flavors balancing it out just don't work for me. It goes from a subtle sweetness to an almost pale ale bitterness in just one sip. It's impossible for me to really pinpoint all the flavors going on here but I don't like any of them.

This is certainly an interesting concept. I happen to love watermelon, but I feel this beer didn't do the flavors any justice.

I was pleased to find that this beer does indeed taste like watermelon, and not something with artificial "watermelon flavor" added for the sake of making it sweeter and more appealing, as happens with candy since watermelon itself is so boring. It's light in body and in color, and it's easy to drink. I'd recommend it to anyone who asked about it.

This is the best watermelon wheat ever made or even "fruit beer" for that matter. It nails the smooth flavor of a wheat beer and follows it up with a subtle but flavorful watermelon vibe. Not too much, not too little. Just right. Another amazing beer from 21st Amendment!

Pours a hazy gold with eggshell white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of grain and wheat, slightly metallic. Not sure if I'm getting any of the watermelon, maybe faintly. Taste follows the nose, grainy up front with a little watermelon sweetness on the middle of the palate. Finishes slightly metallic. Mouthfeel is on par for a 4.9% wheat beer. Overall, very crushable, drinkable, but not something I would reach for. In terms of a 21st Amendment session beer I will go for Down to Earth.

12 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours yellow with a finger of foam that fades quickly. Aroma is wheaty, grainy, husky, and a hint of watermelon.

Flavor has a nice watermelon presence. Not super sweet, and the wheat malt comes through in the aftertaste. The watermelon flavor is subdued, which is preferable. Very light and refreshing.

Honestly, not a bad summer beer. I'd buy this again if I knew I'd be drinking outside.

Not really a review, just wanted to say a few things. This beer isn't going be a Beer of Fame anytime soon, BUT, I don't think it was brewed with that in mind. It's a fun light bodied beer that goes down smooth, kinda like a session IPA. Go mow the lawn, then knock a few of these back, and you will see what I mean. It's just a fun beer. Props to 21st for doing something different :-)

(ohh, the price is on point too. I think I paid 7.99 at BevMo for a sixer of CANS)

Nice light bodied beer, perfect on a hot summer day. Favorite beer while kayaking. Most can's I've had reminded me of Jolly Rancher's , though the candy like flavor was not as present when I've had it on tap at the brewery. Go Giants!

A - Pours a hazy yellow with a nice white head that dies pretty quickly.
S - Yeasty
T - Definite watermelon notes, a little sour on the finish.
M - Medium mouth feel.
O - This is pretty good, would be enjoyable on a hot summer day. The watermelon flavor is spot on and not overpowering.

Poured into a tasting glass

A - Very cloudy almost lemonade hue (very strange, yet appealing), one finger very white head and little to no lacing

S - Wheat, sugar, watermelon, citrus, hops, malts/grain aplenty, banana, a clear brisk mountain spring morning, slightly floral and bit of a funk

T - Wheat, citrus, watermelon, sugar, seltzer water, slight hops, pretty malty and tastes slightly like candy

M - Medium to full bodied, medium acidity, lightly crisp carbonation, well balanced, ok complexity and a very nice, slightly on the sweet side yet refreshing wheat/citrus/water melon finish

D/O - Very nice, very refreshing and for the wheat and vegetable/fruit lover alike! Drinkable morning, noon or night. Not much for a winter/fall season(s), yet after a nice day of playing ball or hiking (in any weather) this one will quench your thirst!

Final Thoughts - At $9 a six pack this isn't bad at all. The ABV leaves a little to be desired if you're trying to relax. Refreshing is the word that best describes this one.

12oz can enjoy by 6/30/15 poured into a pint glass
A: Pale yellow, hazy with a one-finger head that quickly settles
S: Muted. Wheat, a touch of watermelon and a hint of lemon
T: More prevalent watermelon, though to me this tastes more like the rind than the juicy parts. Wheat, herbs and lemon are in the background
M: Light-bodied, a touch bitter given the rind prevalence
O: Usually my favorite bite of watermelon is eating the last bits of flesh off the rind. That being said, the rind being the more distinct taste in a beer doesn't work. I'd prefer this with a bit more sweet watermelon & wheat notes than what it has. Somewhat refreshing but there are numerous other wheat beers I'd drink for refreshment before revisiting this

My wife's favorite beer, hands down. It has wonderful juicy, fruity, authentic watermelon flavor that dominates the taste. Sweet & sugary, with a bit of dry grainy wheat presence on the finish that finishes it off your palette.

12 fl oz. can, with enjoy by date 06/30/2015 printed on the bottom of the can. A new beer to me from 21st Amendment Brewery, finally available in my state. Acquired the six pack from the local beer store.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - It pours a nice golden body, maybe a slight green tint, fairly typical of a wheat beer, with just under a finger of frothy white head. Some scattered spotty lacing left behind.

S - A pretty nice aroma, if a little on the sweet side. A grainy wheat malt / base is noticeable beneath the very prominent authentic watermelon / rind / vegetal presence.

T - Taste is the same: juicy, fruity, authentic watermelon / rind flavor dominates this one. Sweet & sugary, with a bit of dry grainy wheat presence on the finish.

M - The feel is smooth, crisp, clean, and easy-drinking. Light-bodied with excellent carbonation.

Overall, this is the better of the two watermelon beers I've had, although it is a bit sweet, perhaps even a tad cloying if one were to drink too much of this. Definitely not something I would drink quantity of, but I would surely be interested in having it again. Recommended.

If you're looking to quench your thirst and want something nice and light than this is the beer for you. Not super into wheat beers but this one was refreshing. Maybe because I am a huge fan of anything watermelon

Looks like a watered down hefeweizen. Smells like watermelon rind and barnyard funk. Taste is watermelon flavored airhead candy infused beer. Clean mouthfeel.

T- WATERMELON! followed up by a lite wheat taste with touch of lemon.

M- Very light and medium-high carbonation

O- Love it. I really like watermelon so this is a a real treat for me.

12oz can, Enjoy By 06/30/15. I probably wouldn't have bought this, but it was included in a beer-store-made mixed 4 pack of 21st Amendment beers new to the Chicago area, so I figured, why not?
A - looks pale in color - but pretty much unknown - drank from the can
S - mild aroma - mostly some wheat, grass, and watermelon
T - nice refreshing mild flavors of cracked wheat, watermelon, lemongrass
M - lighter bodied, ample carbonation, very modest bitterness - ideal for the style
O - interesting variation on a wheat beer with the watermelon in there. I actually could see myself buying some more of this for my wife and I to drink on a super hot summer day.

Just a really refreshing canned beer. Perfect for a hot day if you want something on the sweeter end. Not normally one for fruit beers, or wheat beers for that matter, but this remains an exception.

Very soft/light but very pleasing, natural watermelon character. Not so much in aroma but taste. Not too sweet; could even use a little more sweetness on the back end as it is pretty crisp and a bit bland with basically very light wheat flavour. Wishing for a little more complexity/balance between the malts, watermelon, or bit of something like tropical hops to really set this apart from the crowd.

Incredible summer beer, tartness from watermelon is palatable and not off putting, at 4.9% ABV it's definitely got the kick for funtime summer drinking

Pours a very light red/pink with a fairly slight haze and a half finger of airy off-white foam.

Wow, tons of watermelon aroma, not much else to speak of, but very pungent.

Flavor matches well with the aroma, but seems to be missing some punch. Again, tons of watermelon in the flavor with not much else to really make this stand out.

Light-bodied, medium carbonation, slightly grainy, prickly carbonation, decent.

Overall, the watermelon is definitely there is aroma as well as flavor, but this beer is rather bland and lacking something.

Serving: Can into pint
Served: 6 April 2015

Appearance: Pours a very pale yellow with tons of carbonation and a soapy white head that quickly collapses. Awesome can though- so points for that.

Smell: Traditional 'beery' smell, slight sour fruitiness.

Taste: Very light 'beery' flavor with a slight assertion of sour watermelon and melon-rind. Really not as fruity as I would be hoping, and because of this, a beer that is really lacking. The beer is more tart than I was imagining before drinking. Drinkable, but only barely.

Mouthfeel: Huge carbonation makes it immensely quaffable...now only if the flavor permitted quaffability.

Overall: Not a great summer brew. Awesome cans, but that's where the awesome ends.

This is the perfect backyard BBQ beer. Smooth and crisp with a delicious blend of watermelon that isn't too overbearing with little after taste. An all around perfect beer for those late summer nights in the yard with friends.

Review taken summer 2014.

12 oz light color of green can with some pretty sweet artwork. Miss Statue of Liberty in relax mode clutching a watermelon. It's stunning artwork. Poured into an American style pint glass.

I have to give it the grade I did in a hats off manner. Just given the fact that they actually accomplished a watermelon note blended with a fruity wheat flavor is somewhat exceptional to me. Not that it's a great beer, but bc if the feat itself. I can't say I'll ever have another, but this is proof American brewers are yet again pushing the limits of flavor.

It poured a milky golden with a reasonably nice head. The smell was a lot less pungent than I had expected, citrusy sweet notes with some of that wheaty body. The taste was...interesting. At first I almost spit it out. I was overwhelmed by the watermelon. But I steadied myself and kept trying it. The taste settled and it actually became rather pleasant. It's a nice drinking beer on a summer day, but nothing to write home about. Unless you're going home for the summer, and need a beer to drink for that.
