I loved the way the watermelon added to this beer. Not overpowering sweetness, just some light melon flavor in the background, refreshing yet slightly dry. This is an excellent summer, hot weather beer. Nice wheat backbone, pale golden in color, light foamy head.

From the can marked enjoy by 8/31/2015. Sampled on July 3, 2015.

It pours into a tall Pilsener glass a light pale yellow color with a quick lasting fizzy white head.

Yep, I pick up a few slices of watermelon in the aroma with a more subdued wheat malt character. Some thin spice.

Light body.

Again, like the aroma, watermelon is vibrant in the flavor with a slightly fade wheat note and a mild bitterness to finish. A good one to have on the beach.

Poured from can into 10oz glass. Poured a cloudy, hazy yellow with over an inch of white head that almost instantly disappeared and left no trace of having existed.

Typical wheat beer aroma except for the watermelon scent. Same for the taste, there's not much behind the fruit.

The body was typical for a wheat beer, perhaps slightly thin. The drinkability took a penalty for the sticky sweetness. Overall, not a bad beer, I could see throwing a few cans in the cooler for a day tubing on the Nooksack, but this isn't something I'll drink regularly.

Poured into a Clown Shoes pint glass.

A - Pours a hazy straw colour with a quarter inch fizzy why head that disappears leaving no lacing at all. Small particles suspended in the pour.

S - Nice typical wheat notes here with just the faintest of watermelon rind aroma.

T - Tastes like well, a wheat beer with some semi-fake watermelon flavour. The watermelon at some point has almost a rind taste, where others it tastes like watermelon candy or icecream.

M - Crisp almost high carbonation. Feels nices in the mouth and refreshing on the tongue.

D - Very refreshing. A watermelony flavoured lighter beer great for summertime. Looks like your typical "light" beer, not much on the nose. Still its enjoyable.

12oz can poured into a pint glass.

A- Pours a slightly golden yellow color with a thin fizzy white head.

S- The aroma features some malt and wheat along with a faint watermelon smell.

T- Some malt and wheat flavors with really faint watermelon flavors in the background. Not much notable hop flavor.

M- The mouthfeel is light bodied with a high amount of carbonation that is pretty cheap and macro lager feeling. But hey, there are no seeds to spit out!

D- Pretty run of the mill, I get bored with this one pretty quickly.

Overall, Hell or High Watermelon is a pretty average brew that I won't be jumping at to purchase again.

12oz can purchased as a 6-pack from Yankee Spirits, Sturbridge, MA.

Poured into a Sam Adams glass, formed a 1/2" off-white head over the cloudy blonde brew. Head falls promptly, with average lacing. Aroma is earthy and lightly citric, no watermelon I can sense. Taste starts tart and lightly sweet, finally find some watermelon in the middle, and then get back to a wheat close. Mouthfeel is pretty smooth, and drinkability is better than average as well. Not sure the wheat and watermelon work that great together, but maybe as a thirst-quencher. We'll see what happens...

Cans drank at the beach this past weekend.

Did not pour it out, as I was in the water but apparently it's a hazy orange.

Smells like sweet fruits, but not necessarily watermelon. Some wheat is noticed on the nose too.

The taste is similar. It's a standard crisp American pale wheat, with a crisp finish that is accentuated by a mild but juicy watermelon flavor. It's subtle, and doesn't overwhelm the palate or become cloying. The base wheat beer is slightly bitter, and a little bit yeasty- the sweetness from the watermelon keeps both of those in check. The beer is understandably a little watery.

Light bodied, crisp, refreshing mouthfeel- perfect for the situation. High carbonation.

Overall not too bad- it's not a world beater, though. The watermelon flavor is nice, but the base beer could be a little bit better.

I got this can in a trade with joe1510. Thanks Joe!

It's a nice cloudy yellow gold pour. Fairly large head shrinks fairly quickly, some lacing.

The smell has a strong watermelon presence but I also get a touch of some yeast.

The taste is the same as the nose. Lots of watermelon that mellows out some after a few sips, candy sugar sweetness, some lemon zest peeks through, a little yeast, quite flavourful over all but...I'm not a huge fan of watermelon so finishing the can will be a chore for me. Interesting concept for sure though.

L: Hazy straw under a 1” quickly disappearing white foam cap.
S: Light watermelon, fruit, wheat, not a big nose.
T: Starts with a fruit palate and then the watermelon bursts through with some wheat, moderate sweetness and a bitter finish.
F: Creamy, light, refreshing, above average carbonation.
O: I can’t drink a lot of this at one time. Its odd but it somehow works. They deserve some points for creativity.

12 ounce can, canned on 6/27/13. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with about an inch white head. Head retention is decent, and there isn't much lacing. The brew smells mostly like sweet and bready malt, along with a bit of watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. The taste is similar to the aroma, except that there's more balance between the malty and watermelon flavor. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy enough to drink. Not a bad beer for a hot day. I only grabbed this since I was able to get a single can at my local Kroger. I wouldn't buy a six pack of this, but it's worth trying if you've never had it before.

Got this for 1.99 at a Beer Nutz store in Fox Chapel

A - Drank it from the can but could assume it's a pale yellow color.
S - Man it smells great! Almost like Jolly Ranchers! I hope it at least tastes good.
T - Meh. That's really it. The great smell is replaced by a sub par lager taste with little or no watermelon to speak of.
M - I rarely throw out a brew but I couldn't get more than 75 percent down without gagging.
D - wouldn't want to try anymore of their beers! I think they just take MGD and ferment it with an artificial fruit flavor and mark up the cost.

My rating is fair but please avoid if you can!

Huge wheat up front followed by a subtle, yet flavorful watermelon kick. Not very sweet or fruity which lends to a refreshing and drinkable summer ale. It's ok.

Thanks to Greg Cock for the sample.

Pours a lightly hazed golden amber, thick white head forms, thick ring around the glass, some decent lacing sticking around, good retention, looks nice. Smell is neat, very fruity, honey sweetness, watermelon seeds, orange peel, kind of biscuity and toasty, nice and refreshing aroma. Taste is pretty watermelon seedy, biscuity and toasty, wheat, lemon tartness, honey, very fresh fruitiness, some melons, pretty good. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium to high carbonation, very refreshing if a little bland, but would be great in the summer.

Hazed sun yellow boddy. Thin fluffy white head. Sporadic lace coats the glass in patches as I drink. Aroma is sweet, bright and melony. Interesting flavor, though it's not my thing. This is the first watermelon beer I've tried and may be the last. I don't get any real specific watermelon flavor other than a juicy sweetness. The wheat base is very average. Nothing really stands out here. Could drink some of these in summer if nothing else was available.

Poured into a Florida Beer Co. tapered glass. Bottom of can says Enjoy By 06/30/14. Damn cardboard six-pack packaging...

A- Pours a hazy dark golden color very similar to the way cider looks with a 1/2 inch white head that retains a bit before becoming a paper-thin ring around the edge of the glass and nearly no surface foam. No lacing to speak of.

S- Weak wheat beer smell. Hint of generic watermelon.

T- Starts out with that standard light wheat taste and then comes the watermelon that's very apparent but also somewhat subtle. The watermelon is a bit artificial tasting but luckily it's not too sweet so it remains manageable. Easy to drink, almost too easy. Watermelon aftertaste is OK.

M- Slightly syrupy with medium carbonation and a light body.

O- This beer serves its purpose as an innocuous, inoffensive wheat beer with some watermelon flavoring thrown in to make it a bit different. It's a quaffer, great for music festivals and sporting events where you just want something semi-refreshing and accessible to gulp and share with friends. Especially good for the non-beer-loving females. In the overall scheme of things though, there are much better things to be drank out there.

Pours yellow and hazy, with a thick white head that falls away into a thin head of small white bubbles. It left some lacing on the glass. Mouthfeel is a little undercarbonated for the style.

Aroma is dead on for a Watermelon Jolly Rancher; no hop aroma detected. Pretty simple.

Taste is also pretty straight-forward; its clean, finishes nicely. Its medium body is a bit much for the style (wish it was a little lighter), grainy in the back, some sweetness with the watermelon flavor overpowering the other malts and any hops. Its about what you'd expect a watermelon wheat to taste like. The drinkability will vary by how much you like watermelon/fruit beers; for me I could do 3 max and then be burnt out but as I said some could do many many more, some 1 and done.

Cloudy pale straw colour with a small head. No lacing and poor head retention.

Fresh and fruity watermelon aroma with a touch of sweetness. Almost a touch sugary.

Light wheat flavour with a hit of watermelon. Good balance.

Light body with moderate carbonation. Fine.

A decent fruit beer but nothing worth writing home about. Worth trying once and I hear it's better on tap than in the can.

12oz can poured into a pint

A pale golden yellow body sits underneath an extremely foamy just off-white cap. Head takes its sweet time to face and leaves mild lacing. The body has a milky cloudiness with an average amount of visible carbonation.

Wheat leads the way on the nose. A lightly sweet aroma of fresh cut watermelon. Not really trying to be anything more than advertised.

Watery up front and then the watermelon comes in to round things out in the finish. I like the idea but this guy is just a little too watery for my tastes. A better base beer would lend to a much better flavor profile.

Thin and watery with a slightly sweet finish. Not that appealing.

Considering the light body and low abv, this is a pretty drinkable beer. However the flavor profile isn't enough to keep me coming back for more and more.

Poured from a can into a snifter. Gentle pour led to about 2 fingers of a thin white head that quickly disappeared. Smells like canned corn. Tasted like canned corn with a slight jolly rancher watermelon finish. The longer it sat the more it smelled and tasted like watermelon but I ended up drain pouring half of this mess.
This beer was gross.

Appearance: high carbonation, 1/4 inch head, cloudy, yellowish-green

Smell: wheat, and melon

Taste: very watermelon--almost like a watermelon jolly rancher, bready wheat, with some small hops near the end

Mouthfeel: sweet, light/smooth body, high carbonation, slight bitter taste in the end.

Drinkability: Great taste for the style, especially if you like watermelons. An awesome summer beer..Bought a six and am happy I did

12oz can, Enjoy By 06/30/15. I probably wouldn't have bought this, but it was included in a beer-store-made mixed 4 pack of 21st Amendment beers new to the Chicago area, so I figured, why not?
A - looks pale in color - but pretty much unknown - drank from the can
S - mild aroma - mostly some wheat, grass, and watermelon
T - nice refreshing mild flavors of cracked wheat, watermelon, lemongrass
M - lighter bodied, ample carbonation, very modest bitterness - ideal for the style
O - interesting variation on a wheat beer with the watermelon in there. I actually could see myself buying some more of this for my wife and I to drink on a super hot summer day.

12oz. can served in a standard pint glass. Poured a hazy straw gold with a quarter inch, loose, white head that quickly disperses into a broken skim with a thicker band around the edges. Some spots of lacing, but weak legs. Nose is watermelon rind and some citrus - very mild. Taste consistent with nose with some wheat notes in the mix. Mouthfeel is light-bodied and evenly carbonated - just the right amount of effervescence to give some body while also being refreshing. Finish is fairly dry and clean. Fairly easy drinking beer - not spectacular, but exactly as anticipated for what it is. Much better than the Hooker Watermelon in that it actually taste like watermelon and not like some artificially flavored substitute.

12oz single, Thanks lou91 for the try, I have been hearing about this beer in comparison to the great dane's version

appearance: I had no idea this came in a can....pours into an imperial pint glass....very pale body, light straw color, frothy white head with light lacing

smell: I can tell almost immediately what this beer is as i've seen its type before....a nice and original fruit presence over an average wheat body. I've never had a watermelon wheat before though, so its a fresh idea to me...aroma is of a nice red watermelon, honey, pale wheat body

taste: taste is immediately of watermelon which im not sure my palate knows how to process...body and base resembles an american pale wheat with very subtle flavor. It's an interesting beer and I can see a 6 pack of cans being a nice buy on a hot summer day

mouthfeel: medium-light body, average carbonation

drinkability: pretty high

12 oz can poured into a tulip.
4.9% ABV,

A - Slightly hazed, Hell or High Watermelon is warm pale straw yellow in color with a soapy white head that relaxes to a ring of foam and little lace left behind.

S - Juicy Jolly Rancher watermelon aroma blends with pale malt and soft wheat for a simple but dry, inviting aroma that suggests faint tartness in the background.

T - Watermelon flavor is at the forefront and carefully teeters between authentic and artificial, but nicely blending with the one dimensional pale malt base.

M - Crisp and refreshing, Hell or High Watermelon is light bodied and effervescent with a slightly dry finish that trails off with clean drinkability.

O - It's been my experience trying to incorporate the flavor of natural watermelon into a beer without a syrupy, fake outcome is incredibly hard. That said, I think 21st Amendment has done a fine job producing such a beer; one with good watermelon flavor incorporated nicely into a
