Snow white head, very light straw in color. Lots of wheat on the aroma with a subtle amount of watermelon, there is almost a tartness to the aroma.
Wheat on the front of this beer that quickly transitions to watermelon. This lasts for a few sips and the intense flavor of the watermelon dissipates. This is a very bright and crisp beer very light mouth feel . This beer at the start has a candy like quality to it. The watermelon is a little strong at the start but this subsides quickly and the beer has this nice light fruit flavor to it.

12 oz. can, 2014 edition, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, hazy, golden, yellow/straw color with a quarter of a finger of very white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a thin lacing of foam that only covered maybe a quarter of the top of the beer.

Aroma: Not much in the aroma department, actually, which is both surprising and disappointing. I actually don’t get any aromas what-so-ever.

Taste: However, this beer has a lot of flavor, predominately watermelon. Strong, fruity, crisp, semi-sweet, yet slightly sour flavors of watermelon up front, followed by some honey, slightly toasted wheat and some floral, grassy flavors. But the predominate flavor is watermelon. Actually, the beer’s flavor reminds me a lot of the watermelon-flavored Jolly Rancher® candy.

Mouth feel: Medium-bodied and very crisp as there’s quite a lot of carbonation to this beer. With an ABV of 4.9%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: Interesting beer. Lots of watermelon, a little wheat, and a touch of honey. Interesting. I’m not sure if I like it, but I do find in intriguing.

Most of this sixer was out of the can, but I saved one to pour in a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds leaving barely any lacing.
The smell definitely had the watermelon with a decent fair kick of wheat at the end.
The taste followed the nose with the kick of wheat giving off a fuller quality about it.
The mouthfeel was about a medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed appropriately styled for the American wheat ale style.
Overall, honestly, it's just an okay kind of beer. Nothing special but nothing bad.

Smell- Cotton candy, lemon

Taste- Like a Bud Light with artificial melon flavor

Mouthfeel- Fizzy, overcarbonated, thin

Overall- Meh. More water than melon.

Had a can on the beach, was a great fit.

Nice smell of bready yeast and watermelon juice.

Taste has just the right enough of watermelon. Its definitely a fruit forward beer but it isn't sugary/syrupy or overwhelming. I could easily have drunken a few of them. I don't know if they use real watermelon, I doubt it, but regardless it tastes like real watermelon.

Good change of pace from IPAs, porters and RIS.

I am lucky enough to have tried this at 21st Amndt. in San Francisco on draft served with a fresh watermelon slice! Yup it is not complete without the fresh fruit. And please don't judge by the from a "can" experience, I think it develops a metal residue flavor which I could actually pick up on. Draft only for this one please. Enjoy

I had this beer both in a can and on-tap.

The freshest and most refreshing watermelon beer. It's not fake and its not too sweet. If you're looking for a beer, choose something else. But if you want a watermelon delicious-ness (thats still a beer), buy one.

I've always been a bit weary to try this one, but the Mrs. picked up a sixer, so here we go...

A - A standard to fairly aggressive pour yields a perfectly level three fingers worth of audibly fizzy slightly airy whimsical pure virginal white froth... Really good retention... Once receded there is a full even veil of similar lacing... The color is a golden honey with some lemony yellow undertones... There is a subtle haziness suspended throughout... A moderate bit of carbonation that starts sluggish at the bottom of the glass and works itself up to a moderate pace before reaching the top of the glass...

S - A lively wheat presence to start... There are some fresh cut grass notes as well... The watermelon notes are present, but they take a distant back seat... There are fresh and there is nothing artificial about it... Over all this one smells both fresh and refreshing...

T - The watermelon is dialed up a bit on the palate, but again it's fresh and not artificial... The wheat component takes the back seat in terms of flavors... There is also a subtle layer of earthy spiciness that lingers beneath the surface... Perhaps a hint of lemon zest on the finish...

M - On lighter size of medium bodied... Just a bit of carbonation... A bit of stickiness to it... The finish has a touch of chalkiness to it...

D - Not a bad beer by any means... The watermelon addition is a compliment to the base wheat beer and doesn't dominate in any means... A nice summer sipper, but not something that I would indulge in on a regular basis... I'm a big fan of 21st Amendment and if this is my least favorite beer they make, they're doing something very right...

$4.75 can had at Brick Oven Bistro in Sandusky, Ohio after a Cedar Point trip. If you're hungry after visiting Cedar Point, that place is an absolute must visit. Well, if you're hungry for PIZZA after Cedar Point... anyway! Served into the snifter that was handed to me.

I've heard some seriously mixed things about this beer since I first heard about it about a year ago. I've been interested in having it, and finally had the opportunity (obviously). First things first, the can is awesome and catches the eye. Taking a smell... I get the slightest amount of watermelon. Really, it's super wheat. It smells like a pretty mediocre wheat beer and is incredibly "meh".

The appearance is slightly hazy (hm, could that be from the wheat!?) yellow with a bright white head that dies down. No lacing that I could tell.

Okay, the taste. Seriously, if you've had Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, think of that, but replace the lemon with watermelon. Massive amounts of watermelon in this one, no joke. A bit of a wheaty finish, but there's not much to it outside of the watermelon. Not very beer-y, but you get what you (should) expect. The smell is super deceiving. Very drinkable, tasty, sessionable as hell... just no complex flavors that'll make a sophisticated craft beer drinker think "Hm. Ah, yes. Quite exquisite *tips fedora*."

If you're looking for a beer that honestly tastes like watermelon (for some reason), here you go. Watermelon beginning until the end when a wheat character comes in to cleanse the palate a bit. I actually really enjoyed this beer and would definitely buy it in the summer if it were available in Michigan.

Can poured into plastic glass

Big two finger white frothy cap quickly settles down to a white layer. Active carbonation in a golden yellow liquid.

Aroma of straw, spices, citrus and watermelon

Sweet Watermelon on the front of the tongue. Hefewiesse on the middle , lemony and yeast. Tastes like the label on the can reads, wheat beer with watermelon.

Very light mouthfeel, no carbonation.

Refreshing, good for a hot summer day after cutting the lawn.

Poured on-tap into hell or high watermelon glass (a small hefeweizen glass)...garnished with a piece of watermelon.
A: Pours a clear yellow with moderate carbonation. Thin white head quickly dissipates.
S: Watermelon, citrus hops, and mild malt.
T: Watermelon, soft citrus hops, smooth wheat, and super mild malt.
M: Very light body. Smooth and mildly sweet.
D: Very drinkable, but not complex...kinda like watermelon.

Pours hazy and yellow with a stream of bubbles rising to meet a fat white had of foam that leaves patchy lace as it falls. Nose is a nice wheat with a bit of sweetness on it. The watermelon is a touch of floral and almost a backnote on the nose. There is a bit of hop grass and it too is sweet. That is blending nicely with the flaked wheat. Taste is good. It's perky and has a thinner side of medium mouthfeel. You could even call it light. A crackery malt crispness , a nice malt dryness and a little bit of natural wheat sweetness. Nothing honey like or rich. The watermelon in the drink is light and floral but unmistakably watermelon and the hops grass meets a touch of spice to intrigue the palate a bit. The finish is balanced and there is a slight hop bitter and a light little aftertaste from malt. There is a juicy citric quality that does not meet any definition of a fruit and that keeps the beer balanced and tart in the drink.

I darn like it.

This is a delicious brew. I would turn this on to someone who doesn't have much experience with the hoppier craft brews but wants to develop their palate. It has just hints of fruit and is very crisp and refreshing...an excellent hot-Summer-day brew!

The watermelon wheat beer that trumps all others. This is refreshing and light, with a noticeable and prominent watermelon flavor. Somehow they keep the watermelon super juicy and refreshing, without being sweet or sticky.

Absolutely would purchase and drink again. Exceptional.

Cans drank at the beach this past weekend.

Did not pour it out, as I was in the water but apparently it's a hazy orange.

Smells like sweet fruits, but not necessarily watermelon. Some wheat is noticed on the nose too.

The taste is similar. It's a standard crisp American pale wheat, with a crisp finish that is accentuated by a mild but juicy watermelon flavor. It's subtle, and doesn't overwhelm the palate or become cloying. The base wheat beer is slightly bitter, and a little bit yeasty- the sweetness from the watermelon keeps both of those in check. The beer is understandably a little watery.

Light bodied, crisp, refreshing mouthfeel- perfect for the situation. High carbonation.

Overall not too bad- it's not a world beater, though. The watermelon flavor is nice, but the base beer could be a little bit better.

Presentation: It was served on tap and poured into a pint glass. The beer menu listed the abv at 4.9%.

Appearance: The body has a hazy straw yellow color with light foamy head on top. It’s head fizzled out quickly.

Smell: The aroma is fairly light overall. It brings some light wheat malt and white bready maltiness to the nose. It also has nice natural watermelon notes as well as and mild mineral like character.

Taste / Palate: It’s lightly bodied and like it’s aroma it has light pale bready and wheat maltiness with a light sweetness and an equally balanced watermelon flavor. Again like it’s aroma it also has a slight mineral flavor note and just a very light herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Notes: This is definitely a hot summer day or lawn mower beer. It’s thin and light making it easy drinking and interesting. It like that the watermelon taste is natural and some candy like flavoring added to a light wheat beer.

This is the second year I have tried this seasonal release. I did find that for 2015, I got a better batch than in 2014. I don't know if they changed the recipe for 2015, but I found it better this year in 2015. Overall, this style is nice for those extremely hot days of summer. I wasn't blown away by either year though. This is a good beer, just not a great beer in my opinion. I think the hype of this beer overshadows the actual product. It seems that the more unique a beer is brewed the stronger the hype is that comes along with it. Sure it is great to break new ground in the brewing industry, but I often think people get too caught up in the hype of things.

This beer poured a nice hazy straw color with little to no head to it. The smell was of melon and sweet malts. You could actually make out the watermelon odor off the beer this year, which I didn't get last year. The taste for me this year was very clean and refreshing. The watermelon flavor seems to bring a slight hint of sweetness to the light bodied wheat finish. This is an awesome combo for a summer beer. Easy to drink and not too heavy on the stomach. The ABV is 4.9% so you can definitely throw a few of these back. The taste was clean and didn't leave any lingering aftertaste really. I did enjoy this beer much better than last year. Now I am wondering if I had a bad batch or a skunked beer from 2014??? Anyway I am still saying better than average. A good summer beer to try and experience. Pair it with your day at the beach or at your backyard BBQ or tailgate party.

12 oz can was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer quickly. It is a hazy pale yellow with some vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Tart, bready, and sweet malts with a faint watermelon aroma.

Taste: Same as above. Bland with a tiny hint of watermelon.

Mouthfeel: Light, refreshing, a little chewy, and low carbonation.

Overall: Not too shabby for a warm weather beer.

Pours pale gold in color with a big white head. Smells of typical wheat beer aromas with a little soapiness and some watermelon. Flavor is light and crisp with apparent, but not overwhelming watermelon notes. I like this, it's unique but well executed. Good summer brew.

Purchased in a six pack/can from a local bottle shop.

Appearance is typical for a wheat beer: cloudy and off-white/golden.

Watermelon is muted to low appearance. Muted lemon flavor to flat.

Honestly, this beer would probably be better if re-imagined in a Gose style. It lacks the salt-metallic base notes that would bring the watermelon forward in a fresh/true form.

Okay as a wheat beer, but for the price you can purchase a better fruit/wheat beer.

Overall, it stops just short of being refreshing.

Poured into a Florida Beer Co. tapered glass. Bottom of can says Enjoy By 06/30/14. Damn cardboard six-pack packaging...

A- Pours a hazy dark golden color very similar to the way cider looks with a 1/2 inch white head that retains a bit before becoming a paper-thin ring around the edge of the glass and nearly no surface foam. No lacing to speak of.

S- Weak wheat beer smell. Hint of generic watermelon.

T- Starts out with that standard light wheat taste and then comes the watermelon that's very apparent but also somewhat subtle. The watermelon is a bit artificial tasting but luckily it's not too sweet so it remains manageable. Easy to drink, almost too easy. Watermelon aftertaste is OK.

M- Slightly syrupy with medium carbonation and a light body.

O- This beer serves its purpose as an innocuous, inoffensive wheat beer with some watermelon flavoring thrown in to make it a bit different. It's a quaffer, great for music festivals and sporting events where you just want something semi-refreshing and accessible to gulp and share with friends. Especially good for the non-beer-loving females. In the overall scheme of things though, there are much better things to be drank out there.

12 oz can poured into a shaker pint.

straw-yellow with 1 finger of fluffy white head. Moderate carbonation with a slight haze.

Wheat, spent grains, butter, and a slight whiff of watermelon.

Big on wheatiness with a light lemony twang. Spent grains along with a terrible butter flavor that I usually find in Blue Moon. Slight essence of watermelon that comes off quite artificial.

Medium-light bodied, crisp, and clean.

A boring wheat beer with buttery off-flavors.

A 12oz can - Finally getting around to rating this one

A - Golden yellow with clarity. 1 finger of head and not much lacing. Carbonation bubbles

S - Not getting much on the nose. Light malting.

T - Watermelon, and lots of it. Refreshing and light. Slight bitter hop kick, and some citrus

M - Light bodied, refreshing, smooth. Not much too it

O - A good summer brew for a hot day. And excellent if you like watermelon and beer I suppose

This is my first beer from 21st Amendment. I am a fan of both wheat beers and fruit beers; haven't ever had a watermelon beer so I'm curious about this one.

A: Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass. Color is a hazy light yellow. You can tell this is an unfiltered wheat beer. There's a foamy two fingers of head that is gone just as quickly as it came. No lacing. Half way through there is no appearance of carbonation. Doesn't even look like a beer.

S: Pretty subtle. At first I smell a light citrus bitterness, and then the melon comes in the nose. After a few more whiffs it smells more like a vegetable beer.

T: The very initial taste is wheat malt and then the watermelon rushes over the taste buds. It recedes to a melon rind and cucumber taste. The more I drink the more these tastes meld together and become less identifiable.

MF: Light and pretty crisp. It is easy drinking but not as refreshing as I'd like a watermelon wheat beer that comes under 5% ABV.

O: Not sure how I feel about this beer. I enjoyed it, but I don't think I'd spend the money on this brew again. There's plenty of other great session beer options.
