Poured into a tasting glass

A - Very cloudy almost lemonade hue (very strange, yet appealing), one finger very white head and little to no lacing

S - Wheat, sugar, watermelon, citrus, hops, malts/grain aplenty, banana, a clear brisk mountain spring morning, slightly floral and bit of a funk

T - Wheat, citrus, watermelon, sugar, seltzer water, slight hops, pretty malty and tastes slightly like candy

M - Medium to full bodied, medium acidity, lightly crisp carbonation, well balanced, ok complexity and a very nice, slightly on the sweet side yet refreshing wheat/citrus/water melon finish

D/O - Very nice, very refreshing and for the wheat and vegetable/fruit lover alike! Drinkable morning, noon or night. Not much for a winter/fall season(s), yet after a nice day of playing ball or hiking (in any weather) this one will quench your thirst!

Final Thoughts - At $9 a six pack this isn't bad at all. The ABV leaves a little to be desired if you're trying to relax. Refreshing is the word that best describes this one. (1,026 characters)

12oz can enjoy by 6/30/15 poured into a pint glass
A: Pale yellow, hazy with a one-finger head that quickly settles
S: Muted. Wheat, a touch of watermelon and a hint of lemon
T: More prevalent watermelon, though to me this tastes more like the rind than the juicy parts. Wheat, herbs and lemon are in the background
M: Light-bodied, a touch bitter given the rind prevalence
O: Usually my favorite bite of watermelon is eating the last bits of flesh off the rind. That being said, the rind being the more distinct taste in a beer doesn't work. I'd prefer this with a bit more sweet watermelon & wheat notes than what it has. Somewhat refreshing but there are numerous other wheat beers I'd drink for refreshment before revisiting this (733 characters)

My wife's favorite beer, hands down. It has wonderful juicy, fruity, authentic watermelon flavor that dominates the taste. Sweet & sugary, with a bit of dry grainy wheat presence on the finish that finishes it off your palette. (229 characters)

12 fl oz. can, with enjoy by date 06/30/2015 printed on the bottom of the can. A new beer to me from 21st Amendment Brewery, finally available in my state. Acquired the six pack from the local beer store.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - It pours a nice golden body, maybe a slight green tint, fairly typical of a wheat beer, with just under a finger of frothy white head. Some scattered spotty lacing left behind.

S - A pretty nice aroma, if a little on the sweet side. A grainy wheat malt / base is noticeable beneath the very prominent authentic watermelon / rind / vegetal presence.

T - Taste is the same: juicy, fruity, authentic watermelon / rind flavor dominates this one. Sweet & sugary, with a bit of dry grainy wheat presence on the finish.

M - The feel is smooth, crisp, clean, and easy-drinking. Light-bodied with excellent carbonation.

Overall, this is the better of the two watermelon beers I've had, although it is a bit sweet, perhaps even a tad cloying if one were to drink too much of this. Definitely not something I would drink quantity of, but I would surely be interested in having it again. Recommended.

Looks like a watered down hefeweizen. Smells like watermelon rind and barnyard funk. Taste is watermelon flavored airhead candy infused beer. Clean mouthfeel. (158 characters)

12oz can, Enjoy By 06/30/15. I probably wouldn't have bought this, but it was included in a beer-store-made mixed 4 pack of 21st Amendment beers new to the Chicago area, so I figured, why not?
A - looks pale in color - but pretty much unknown - drank from the can
S - mild aroma - mostly some wheat, grass, and watermelon
T - nice refreshing mild flavors of cracked wheat, watermelon, lemongrass
M - lighter bodied, ample carbonation, very modest bitterness - ideal for the style
O - interesting variation on a wheat beer with the watermelon in there. I actually could see myself buying some more of this for my wife and I to drink on a super hot summer day. (658 characters)

Just a really refreshing canned beer. Perfect for a hot day if you want something on the sweeter end. Not normally one for fruit beers, or wheat beers for that matter, but this remains an exception. (198 characters)

Very soft/light but very pleasing, natural watermelon character. Not so much in aroma but taste. Not too sweet; could even use a little more sweetness on the back end as it is pretty crisp and a bit bland with basically very light wheat flavour. Wishing for a little more complexity/balance between the malts, watermelon, or bit of something like tropical hops to really set this apart from the crowd. (402 characters)

Incredible summer beer, tartness from watermelon is palatable and not off putting, at 4.9% ABV it's definitely got the kick for funtime summer drinking (151 characters)

Pours a very light red/pink with a fairly slight haze and a half finger of airy off-white foam.

Wow, tons of watermelon aroma, not much else to speak of, but very pungent.

Flavor matches well with the aroma, but seems to be missing some punch. Again, tons of watermelon in the flavor with not much else to really make this stand out.

Light-bodied, medium carbonation, slightly grainy, prickly carbonation, decent.

Overall, the watermelon is definitely there is aroma as well as flavor, but this beer is rather bland and lacking something. (542 characters)

Serving: Can into pint
Served: 6 April 2015

Appearance: Pours a very pale yellow with tons of carbonation and a soapy white head that quickly collapses. Awesome can though- so points for that.

Smell: Traditional 'beery' smell, slight sour fruitiness.

Taste: Very light 'beery' flavor with a slight assertion of sour watermelon and melon-rind. Really not as fruity as I would be hoping, and because of this, a beer that is really lacking. The beer is more tart than I was imagining before drinking. Drinkable, but only barely.

Mouthfeel: Huge carbonation makes it immensely quaffable...now only if the flavor permitted quaffability.

Overall: Not a great summer brew. Awesome cans, but that's where the awesome ends. (719 characters)

This is the perfect backyard BBQ beer. Smooth and crisp with a delicious blend of watermelon that isn't too overbearing with little after taste. An all around perfect beer for those late summer nights in the yard with friends. (226 characters)

Review taken summer 2014.

12 oz light color of green can with some pretty sweet artwork. Miss Statue of Liberty in relax mode clutching a watermelon. It's stunning artwork. Poured into an American style pint glass.

I have to give it the grade I did in a hats off manner. Just given the fact that they actually accomplished a watermelon note blended with a fruity wheat flavor is somewhat exceptional to me. Not that it's a great beer, but bc if the feat itself. I can't say I'll ever have another, but this is proof American brewers are yet again pushing the limits of flavor. (578 characters)

It poured a milky golden with a reasonably nice head. The smell was a lot less pungent than I had expected, citrusy sweet notes with some of that wheaty body. The taste was...interesting. At first I almost spit it out. I was overwhelmed by the watermelon. But I steadied myself and kept trying it. The taste settled and it actually became rather pleasant. It's a nice drinking beer on a summer day, but nothing to write home about. Unless you're going home for the summer, and need a beer to drink for that. (507 characters)

Poured into tulip. Hazy yellow a tiny little bit pink. Smell is good yeast and wheat and a bit of sour watermelon at the end. The taste is dryish straw like. Good feel. With watermelon rind at the end. I was excited seeing this beer but the watermelon was sour and drying. I'd still buy it again though (302 characters)

Yellow color with a thick head with medium retention.
Aroma of watermelon with honey, bread, roses and floral hops.
Flavor of watermelon, floral and herbal hops, some orange-lemon, yeast and mild spices. Barley malt feels predominant over wheat.
Light body with good carbonation.
This is pretty decent summer beer, refreshing and very well balanced. Watermelon is definitely there but it is not predominant. Also, it is not heavy on wheat and with perceivable hops. (466 characters)

Overall I like this beer, a nice subtle watermelon flavor with a bit of peppery bite. It does feel a bit watery though, which can be good or bad depending on what your looking for. I find it good on a lazy hot day during summer icy cold. The can art is great as well. (271 characters)

A: Pours a slightly cloudy yellow color with a fingers worth of head that fades down to nothing after a few minutes

S: Wheat, watermelon, and a bit of yeastiness are dominant. Yeast brings about a general fruitiness

T: Watermelon and melon rind right up front, followed by the yeast and wheat. Very lightly tart from the wheat. Finishes with lingering fruitiness and rind notes

M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation. A little on the watery side

O: Gets a little cloying with the watermelon after one or two, so it's not the most seasonable wheat beer. Nice on warm summer days while floating in the pool. Worth a try if you're into fruited wheat beers (659 characters)

Poured from a 12 oz can into a beer can glass on 06.18.14.

A: 1/2 finger head that quickly recedes to a ring. Cloudy yellow/orange body.

S: Lemon, wheat, and orange peel. It smells like a typical wit.

T: Watermelon and wheat. That's it.

M: Creamy smooth and crisp.

O: The watermelon works well with the wheat. It tastes good, but there is nothing else to it.

Snow white head, very light straw in color. Lots of wheat on the aroma with a subtle amount of watermelon, there is almost a tartness to the aroma.
Wheat on the front of this beer that quickly transitions to watermelon. This lasts for a few sips and the intense flavor of the watermelon dissipates. This is a very bright and crisp beer very light mouth feel . This beer at the start has a candy like quality to it. The watermelon is a little strong at the start but this subsides quickly and the beer has this nice light fruit flavor to it. (541 characters)

12 oz. can, 2014 edition, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, hazy, golden, yellow/straw color with a quarter of a finger of very white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a thin lacing of foam that only covered maybe a quarter of the top of the beer.

Aroma: Not much in the aroma department, actually, which is both surprising and disappointing. I actually don’t get any aromas what-so-ever.

Taste: However, this beer has a lot of flavor, predominately watermelon. Strong, fruity, crisp, semi-sweet, yet slightly sour flavors of watermelon up front, followed by some honey, slightly toasted wheat and some floral, grassy flavors. But the predominate flavor is watermelon. Actually, the beer’s flavor reminds me a lot of the watermelon-flavored Jolly Rancher® candy.

Mouth feel: Medium-bodied and very crisp as there’s quite a lot of carbonation to this beer. With an ABV of 4.9%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: Interesting beer. Lots of watermelon, a little wheat, and a touch of honey. Interesting. I’m not sure if I like it, but I do find in intriguing. (1,125 characters)

Most of this sixer was out of the can, but I saved one to pour in a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds leaving barely any lacing.
The smell definitely had the watermelon with a decent fair kick of wheat at the end.
The taste followed the nose with the kick of wheat giving off a fuller quality about it.
The mouthfeel was about a medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed appropriately styled for the American wheat ale style.
Overall, honestly, it's just an okay kind of beer. Nothing special but nothing bad. (650 characters)
