A: A very pale yellow appearance. This is beer is very clear with plenty of effervescence. There is a big, white, fluffy head (due to an aggressive pour) that quickly fades down to about an eight of an inch and leaves some decent lacing throughout the glass, though that disappears in a couple of minutes.

S: The aromas are simple with scents of watermelon jolly ranchers with a little bit of wheat.

T: This beer is refreshing and tasty. I just mowed the lawn, and this is a good beer to pair with summer yard work. The watermelon taste is very present, which I like. I get a bit frustrated when I get a fruit beer and the fruit is so subtle it's hardly detectable. This beer is exactly what it says on the can, and I can respect that. That being said, I'm just not sure that I dig watermelons in my beer.

M: The feel is a bit thin, and has a slight burn in the back (possibly from the fruit?). I would prefer a little more wheat malt backbone and a slightly thicker feel, though I realize this is a low abv summer beer.

D: A good summer beer. One is plenty for me, as I would grow tired of any watermelon beer fairly quickly. Give it a try.

I purchased this at Shawan in Liquors in Md. Poured chilled from the can into a goblet

A - a hazy light marigold color w/ 2 fingers of soapy head w/ tiny bead, The wheat has good retention as lace clings to the glass

S - The smell has a malty, creamy wheat aroma w/ slight fresh mown hay scent and mild sweet esters w/ subtle wheat toastiness

M - The feel has mild sweetness and relatively full body for the strength w/ a high effervescent intro and sweet middle, but drops off significantly and finishes smooth and clean

T - A crisp wheat flavor w/ mild watermelon note w/ light fruit ans subtle rind taste w/ toasty, creamy wheat flavor. The flavor finishes off w/ slightly sweet and mild watermelon juice flavor.

D - A really drinkable wheat w/ nice complimentary watermelon taste - not overdone and adds to the overall drinkability - a refreshing wheat/fruit combo.

12oz can from numbeercruncher.... a complete unexpected extra.. Thanks a bunch Matt.

It's been a loonng week at work.. and I want something not too complex.. more refreshing.. Let's hope the Watermelon Wheat Works. Poured into my New Belgium snifter.

1" head.. minimal lacing... descent cap though.. brew is glowing straw gold when held to a light...

There is definitely some watermelon in there.. sorta funky.. not in a bad way.. just not great.. some spiciness... the fruitiness reminds me of when you get to close to the rind when eating watermelon..

3/3.5/4/4/4
The flavor has a much bigger watermelon essence.. much better than the nose.. the aroma sorta smells too "rotting watermelon".. the palate is a nice burst of watermelon "jolly rancher".. that is waaaay too much of an overstatement.. but the fruit essence is there and somehow still makes me think of fresh fruit.. it's not sweet... in fact.. the finish is fairly dry with an unexpected melon finale. sorta grainy throughout.. but that lends to the bigger picture and lingering fruity finish.. really pretty good.. I like it... That said, I can't imagine ever wanting more than one in a sitting... or probably even a week. If I had this available, i would certainly give it in a nice glass to my non beer drinking friends and say, "Come on.. this is good... I know you like it... just admit it"... Lite body and good carbonation would make this a very nice lawn mowing brew...

Numbeercruncher is certainly one of the most generous traders I've ever had the opportunity of doing business with... Matt... thanks again...

Had this on-tap at the Rogue Public House in San Francisco. Pours a very hazy golden with a thin, white, swirly cap of a head. Smells vaguely sour with wheat and watermelon rind, a touch of lemon, and a tiny bit of sweetness. The taste is similar, with more white rind flavor than red juiciness, but as opposed to the aroma, there is at least some sweet, juicy watermelon here which adds something to the more sour and herbal rind and lemon flavors. Crisp, refreshing, and worth trying. A fairly interesting beer.

Poured from the can into a wheat ale glass.

A real nice decent looker on the pour. Big perfectly pinhead forming head, bleach white, four fingers tall with soapy retention and falling slowly. Body color is a very pale yellow and orb glowing with a classic opaque unfiltered appearance. Nice simple rising carbonation, very solid looking brew.

Faint wet watermellon on the nose, but some off smelling character to match. Not much wheat malt sense or chewyness. Off smelling character is semi vegetative but more of a bitter bile sense which isn't very pleasant.

Palate is very thin. Watery body, with hardly any wheat malt density. Crazy and weird odd finish, with some malt sweetness but a real off pleasant rind fruit bitterness to match. Wet body has some watermellon taste and sweetness, but is quickly overshadowed by a lackluster mouthfeel. The aftertaste leave and unbelievably bitter melon quality which just doesn't go away.

Overall not really diggin this, just all around a not pleasant experience.

Pours ½ finger of white head. Little retention. Color is a light hazed golden yellow.

Aroma: Watermelon and wheat. Lemon zest and spice. Earthy.

Taste: Watermelon and cantaloupe. Spices and zest flavors. Wheat. Lemons. Earthy hops.

Mouthfeel: Creamy and smooth. Refreshing. Lighter bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends kind of dry.

Overall, this is a refreshing summer beer, but not crazy. Not very much to say about this one.

Served in a can at Cork City in Hoboken, NJ

A: Pours a lightly hazy pale straw yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a thin fizzy off-white head that quickly reduces to a thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thin ring at the edges of the glass.

S: The aroma of this beer is mild but you can definitely detect the smell of watermelon and wheat.

T: The watermelon flavor stands out more in the taste than the smell but there is also a decent wheat body. I like the fact that the watermelon flavor is not artificial or overly sweet.

M: Light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Slightly watery.

O: Certainly the best watermelon beer that I have tried as it is not overly sweet and does not taste like a Jolly Rancher. The beer is easy to drink and refreshing but I'm not sure it would be a sessionable beer for me (just not a flavor profile that I loved). Would be good on a real hop summer day.

12oz single, Thanks lou91 for the try, I have been hearing about this beer in comparison to the great dane's version

appearance: I had no idea this came in a can....pours into an imperial pint glass....very pale body, light straw color, frothy white head with light lacing

smell: I can tell almost immediately what this beer is as i've seen its type before....a nice and original fruit presence over an average wheat body. I've never had a watermelon wheat before though, so its a fresh idea to me...aroma is of a nice red watermelon, honey, pale wheat body

taste: taste is immediately of watermelon which im not sure my palate knows how to process...body and base resembles an american pale wheat with very subtle flavor. It's an interesting beer and I can see a 6 pack of cans being a nice buy on a hot summer day

mouthfeel: medium-light body, average carbonation

drinkability: pretty high

Poured from can into 10oz glass. Poured a cloudy, hazy yellow with over an inch of white head that almost instantly disappeared and left no trace of having existed.

Typical wheat beer aroma except for the watermelon scent. Same for the taste, there's not much behind the fruit.

The body was typical for a wheat beer, perhaps slightly thin. The drinkability took a penalty for the sticky sweetness. Overall, not a bad beer, I could see throwing a few cans in the cooler for a day tubing on the Nooksack, but this isn't something I'll drink regularly.

Served from can into a Unibroue La Fin du Monde tulip. Poured golden yellow with a minimal white head. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wheat, grain, and fruit. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, grain, fruit, and watermelon. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was nothing too exciting. If I'm completely honest, I mainly got this one for the name. The watermelon was definitely present, but really didn't blend well with the other flavors going on here. On the aroma I was unable to isolate the watermelon, but it definitely came through on the flavor. Worth trying to say that you did, but that is about it in my personal opinion.

Pours a clean yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, faint wheat note and a small fruitiness. In the taste, well, it tastes like a watermelon Jolly Rancher. A small dry, smooth and light bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry watermelon Jolly Rancher aftertaste. It kind of reminds me of a average wheat beer and dropping a couple watermelon Jolly Ranchers in there, and then drinking it.

Slightly hazey, lighter sided, pale golden yellow color with a small quick to slip capping of off-white foam. Loose and drippy spots of lace don't stay for long.

Aroma is a simple clean wheaty, breadish aroma with a bit of the watermelon showing. Was hoping for a candish tone and sweeter watermelon, but nope, not happening.

Taste is again, more simple then complex, very simple really as it just has an very low key average wheat malt tone of light bready sweetness mixing with a watermelon rind tinge to its edges. I've had this at a couple Summer tasting events where they served this directly from a hollowed out watermelon. Which was awesome! By itself, there's no comparison really.

Body is semi crisp with a lightish medium body, a bit flat on carbonation for a wheat based fruit beer. Which in actuality, seems right on course with many of the other fruit based wheat beer that get cranked out by some of the big macro breweries and micros as well. Nothing I'd seek out really other then trying the hollow watermelon trick at a big Summer picnic or party.

I got this can in a trade with joe1510. Thanks Joe!

It's a nice cloudy yellow gold pour. Fairly large head shrinks fairly quickly, some lacing.

The smell has a strong watermelon presence but I also get a touch of some yeast.

The taste is the same as the nose. Lots of watermelon that mellows out some after a few sips, candy sugar sweetness, some lemon zest peeks through, a little yeast, quite flavourful over all but...I'm not a huge fan of watermelon so finishing the can will be a chore for me. Interesting concept for sure though.

12 oz can poured into a tulip.
4.9% ABV,

A - Slightly hazed, Hell or High Watermelon is warm pale straw yellow in color with a soapy white head that relaxes to a ring of foam and little lace left behind.

S - Juicy Jolly Rancher watermelon aroma blends with pale malt and soft wheat for a simple but dry, inviting aroma that suggests faint tartness in the background.

T - Watermelon flavor is at the forefront and carefully teeters between authentic and artificial, but nicely blending with the one dimensional pale malt base.

M - Crisp and refreshing, Hell or High Watermelon is light bodied and effervescent with a slightly dry finish that trails off with clean drinkability.

O - It's been my experience trying to incorporate the flavor of natural watermelon into a beer without a syrupy, fake outcome is incredibly hard. That said, I think 21st Amendment has done a fine job producing such a beer; one with good watermelon flavor incorporated nicely into a

Poured from a can into a weisse vase, the beer is a cloudy, opaque, pale yellow-gold coloring with no head whatsoever. Aromas of tangy sweet watermelon and toasted grains. Flavors are light and sweet, with a strong watermelon character on the forward tongue that gives you a sugary tart profile atop the toasted grain backbone. The aftertaste is light and quick, with a strong watermelon character and tangy feel. Crisp, light finish. This beer is very easy to drink, and great on a hot day. Also goes well with a wedge of watermelon, as we originally had it at 21st Amendment in SanFran.

12 ounce can, canned on 6/27/13. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with about an inch white head. Head retention is decent, and there isn't much lacing. The brew smells mostly like sweet and bready malt, along with a bit of watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. The taste is similar to the aroma, except that there's more balance between the malty and watermelon flavor. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy enough to drink. Not a bad beer for a hot day. I only grabbed this since I was able to get a single can at my local Kroger. I wouldn't buy a six pack of this, but it's worth trying if you've never had it before.

Got this for 1.99 at a Beer Nutz store in Fox Chapel

A - Drank it from the can but could assume it's a pale yellow color.
S - Man it smells great! Almost like Jolly Ranchers! I hope it at least tastes good.
T - Meh. That's really it. The great smell is replaced by a sub par lager taste with little or no watermelon to speak of.
M - I rarely throw out a brew but I couldn't get more than 75 percent down without gagging.
D - wouldn't want to try anymore of their beers! I think they just take MGD and ferment it with an artificial fruit flavor and mark up the cost.

My rating is fair but please avoid if you can!

I've been wanting to try this for awhile now. It is certainly unique. The watermelon is evident on the aroma and is more of a fresh fruit smell rather than an artificial jolly rancher smell. That is good. There is also a a sweet white cake batter like aroma as well. And the more I smell this the cake batter aroma seems to gain strength....

Has a mild watermelon flavor on the taste....refreshing but different...not artificial as I feared it would be, but more of a freshly cut watermelon flavor...get a little bit of the cake batter on the taste too on the finish.

Light side of medium bodied...cloudy golden color....drinks nice but I don't think I could handle more than a couple at a time. A nice niche wheat.

Poured from 12oz can into a pint glass.

Appearance: hazy light golden color with very little head. Not bad, but not very exciting.

Smell: a little sweet and just a tiny hint of watermelon. There's also a little sourness, but really, the aroma is too low-volume to appreciate much.

Taste: much more watermeloney than the aroma. There is a touch of citrusy wheat flavor in the malt and the watermelon is thankfully nice and understated. It's not my favorite beer in the world, but it is pretty interesting.

Mouthfeel: medium, medium-light body with an OK level of carbonation. It's alright.

Drinkability: pretty refreshing and moderately drinkable. It's not fantastic, but would do in a pinch on a hot day.

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a light, slightly hazy golden amber with a one finger white head that dissipates slowly to a thin cap. Aroma of melon (smells a bit more like cantelope, actually) and light wheat. Flavor is sweet wheat, watermelon (distinct in the flavor) with hints of caramel as it finishes slightly dry with light grassy hops. Light bodied, as appropriate. A pleasant surprise, I was not expecting much from this combination, but the light watermelon add a delicate fruit sweetness to the wheat which worked quite well. I would definitely think about this for lawn mowing. This would have been too light for a witbier, but delivers exactly what it advertises as a watermelon wheat.

Presentation: Silver can with black silhouettes and a dark red square with the words ‘Watermelon Wheat Beer. Holds 12 ounces of beer and is listed at 5.5% ABV.

Appearance: Massive white head forms rapidly and fills all the available space in my 20 ounce glass, despite the fact that it only holds 12 ounces of the brew. Pale golden yellow with a milky body. Clean looking with a healthy conditioning but it is not the usual over-carbonated fizz that so often comes from Cans.

Nose: Sweet nose, delicate wheat with little in the way of anything except for a very delicate hint of freshly cut watermelon.

Taste: Thin profile and low key tastes, but nice enough. Hints of watermelon only come through in the finish. The beginning has a watered down presentation and it struggles a bit in the initial stages but soon pulls round in the finish when the fruits show them selves.

Mouthfeel: It’s a wheat beer so it doesn’t knock your socks off, yet it puts up support in all the right places. Tended to feel a bit weak at first but it grows on you. Light but cheery!

Drinkability: Very refreshing, this is a great Summer beer and it doesn’t put up much of a fight, and it has a fantastic thirst quenching quality.

Overall: Craft beer in a Can is new to me, and this is probably the first which I have had in fact in the US. Lugged all the way down from San Francisco and gifted to me by Gentleman BA Barleypop.

Fresh and fruity watermelon aroma with a touch of sweetness. Almost a touch sugary.

1560th Review on BA
Can to Pint
12oz

Purchased @Total Wine & More, Sacramento, CA for $1.79
Didnt write down canning date

App- It looks more like a wheat that I though. Didnt have any off color. Maybe was thinking it would be red/pink. Guess thats what I get for thinking. Had a good wheat haze behind it with a semi large 2 finger, fast receding head to it. Still no cling. Looked nice though.

Smell- Its about the par for a wheat beer. I get the wheat, a little bit of grassy and maybe some lemon. I dont get any of the watermelon on the aroma. Just a bit light and a bit average for me. Not my favorite style so probably has a lot to do with it.

Taste- I thought this was a very tasty beer. It wouldve been great for the 100+ temps in So. Cal if it was distro'd down here. Had the watermelon flavor and was suprised it wasnt overpowering but well layered and tasteful.

Mouth- A bit light on the feel. Just a bit flat as well. Its a light body with a pretty flat medium carbonation. Could be that this can was 5 months old I believe.

Drink- I thought it was tasty and for a fruity beer with a wheat background, I would anticipate during the summer this would taste a whole lot better.
