Pours a clear pale yellow with a nice white head that diminishes very fast. Nose is pale malt and some slight wheat. Taste follows with slight wheat flavor, and a decent dose of watermelon. It's like candy watermelon though, not real watermelon. The WM flavor is there, but the wheat beer is missing. Mouthfeel is too thin. Drinkability is pretty good. Overall an interesting concoction, but probably one I won't visit again. Their IPA is great, but this one just slightly misses the mark for me.

- can poured into a 20 ounce glass
A - very cloudy hazy yellow with no head.
S - watermellon and wheat with a strange unpleasantness.
T - big wheat upfront followed by a mild watermellon aftertaste.
M - carbonated syrup.
D - not very drinkable for me.
I like fruit beers but not this one.

new entry in our market here in the Northeast so i'd give it a shot

can says to agitate before opening since there is yeast in the can...a couple of quick shakes before opening produced a billowing head that i had to let settle before pouring the remainder of the can in my pint glass...once settled the head was no where to be seen...bright yellow....minimal carbonation

strong scent of watermelon upon bringing up to my nose....some hints of wheat here and there but watermelon is dominant

watermelon flavor coats the mouth after each sip....strong but not cloying....good balance with the wheat flavor

a little thin, but i think this along with the watermelon flavor make it more drinkable...not much in the way of carbonation

i'm drinking this on a cool rainy night, but this would be a nice deck/beach/boat beer on a summer afternoon...might also be a nice gateway beer for the ladies out there that don't like the taste of beer

Poured into a weizen glass from a can. Bottling date is clearly stated at the bottom of the can as "03/02/13."

Pours a hazed, cloudy yellowish-amber look that is pretty typical to beers of this style. A nice foamy head coats the top of the glass (especially with my added extra aggressive pour), but it eventually dwindles down to pretty much nothing but a ring. Bubbles are disappointingly modest here, as well as lacing. The liquid is pretty thick in appearance, and the yeast is definitely noticeable. Still, nothing too showy or impressive. Say... I'd never guess there was watermelon in this thing by looking at it though!

Right at the front of the nose they definitely nailed spot-on the exclusive watermelon ingredient, alongside lightly tinged spices known in wheat beers. The watermelon is slightly sweet, juicy and vibrant, and also provides an off-finish resembling cantaloupe, or some barley ripe green melon. The smell overpowers other aspects in the aroma, but I am picking up some hearty wheat yeastiness, a little bit of herbal character, and lightly packed bready notes, but the watermelon concentrate and rinds really are the star here. In terms of experimenting, they definitely got something interesting and refreshing going on here, but it is unbalanced in displaying all of the beer's aspects.

The flavor, however, is a bit bizarre in following up the aroma. Lots of watermelon dried peel flavors come in, and finish in a soured, candied manner. Coriander and slightly muted spices soon follow, as well as a yeasty, bright character. The melon rinds become progressively tarty, especially as this warms up, and rather than taste juicy and thick, this beer instead comes off as needlessly dry and grainy. There's an astringent aftertaste that resembles sandpaper-like feel, which is strange. The alcohol, despite being below 5%, is surprisingly present here to the point of distraction. Carbonation is low, and there's a slight watery, thinned feel in the finish. Definitely not the most pleasing wheat beer to drink overall.

This is a strange one alright, and while I appreciate the watermelon rind tartness going on here, the beer lacks all of the hearty, chewy characteristics I love in wheat beers. I paired this with actual watermelon, and it was easier to drink... But then I realized that the watermelon fruit itself was more flavorful and juicy and muted the beer as a result. The extra graininess, alcohol burn, and thinness does not make this as refreshing as other Spring/Summer alternatives. For fans of novelty beers, do try this, but I can't recommend this as much as I'd like to.

Got this one from kplynch, thanks man!

12 oz. can poured into the special Sam Adams glass. I was at the brewpub a little over a year ago and they were serving this with a wedge of watermelon which I thought was pretty cool.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with a generous two finger white head that slowly falls to a layer of foam. A fair amount of webbing sticks on the sides of the glass but disapears shortly after. Smell starts spicy and a touch sweet from the wet watermelon. A musty wheat aroma with a disturbing dish soap scent that I can't get past as well. Taste is a slight improvement from the nose. Sweet watermelon up front with lemon and zesty wheat. Some pale malts and an interesting zucchini flavor that I could do without. Crisp and refreshing light body with an aggressive carbonation sting. A bit sweet at times, but I could drink this on a hot summer day. Glad I had the chance to give this can a whirl, but I don't see myself looking for this again anytime soon.

Poured this from a can into a pint glass. Kinda of a hazy light yellow. There was a big fluffy white head but it really didn't last long. Gone by the time I finished typing my first sentence. No real lacing. Lots of tiny bubbles floating to the top. I hope this was a good choice to pair with my pizza. I smell wheat and grains but not much watermelon. I really expected more watermelon. None the less, it doesn't smell bad. This beer is pretty two dimensional. Wheat and watermelon. Bubbalicious gum. I feel like I chewed this in little league. Decent mouth feel, the carbonation is great and the watermelon flavor is novel, glad I picked this up. Easy to kill beer, probably great for a hot day. Glad to pair it with my pizza.

Reviewed by Wiseman Nick and Wiseman Pete.

Appearance: Pours a thin, clear, straw-yellow with very loose, white head. Pretty crappy retention with sticky-ish lacing.

Smell: Smells like watermelon Coors Light. Sorry 21st Ammendment: We're not digging this.

Taste: Strong, tart watermelon (similar to a Jolly Rancher) out front with grainy malts in the middle and more sugary watermelon in the finish. Tastes a lot like a watermelon soda.

Mouthfeel: A very light body with pretty high carbonation and a somewhat dry finish. Flavor leaves the palate very quickly. Feels like a watermelon soda.

Drinkability: What a great gateway beer for kids! Tastes like Jones Watermelon Soda with a hint of malt. I really wonder about a lot of these Fruit / Vegetable 'Beers'.

A) Pours with a thin head. Lacing is thin and partially sticky. Hazy. Gold in color.
S) Citrus. Wheaty. Not very aromatic. Weak notes of watermelon.
T) Subtle watermelon mixed with light caramel notes. A slight hop bite. Grainy in the finish and beyond mixed with mellow watermelon.
M) Crisp. Light bodied. Mildly grainy and dry.
D) Nice summer day beer. Would've liked to taste more watermelon.
