Poured from a can into a pint glass. Looks pretty standard, with a great aroma that you can smell from pretty far away. Taste is a pretty standard IPA, hoppy with faint citrus and pine. Doesn't deliver on the impressive smell.

I usually enjoy big beers and this just wasn't doing it for me. Dating on bottom of can was smudged but it did taste older than it should. Would not revisit even with fresher product.

For a hopped-up brew with a high alcohol content this is one of the smoothest I've tasted. There is hardly any bite even though it's a 94 IBU. Overall just a great Brew. Definitely a sipper and one to be enjoyed. For Duty and Humanity drink up. Free the Hops!!

12 oz. Can poured into a Duvel chalice
Ale aged on oak spirals 9.7 % abv. 94 ibu
Pours out looking like sparkling clover honey with amber and golden highlights. A tight, creamy white foam stands tall, bubbly center, creamy edges. Slow dissipation.
The nose has several layers of creamy caramel and honey scented malty notes. The vanilla, creamy, oak aging brings in a sweet, old furniture type aroma. Pretty unique to what is an otherwise hop dominated brew. The hoppy aromatics are seriously dense, with sweet candied fruits, citrus, pine and funky herbs. The oak spirals add a level of dense sweetness that seems to engance the heady hop aroma.
First sip reveals the nature of the oak, wood aging process, flavor's of old wood, vanilla and leather seem to jump out of the malty complexity. A fine, creamy, oakie malt flavor provides some fine low-end style flavor's. The boozy heat is pretty high...as to be expected. A crisp and clean, light to medium bodied feel overall with a smooth malt textureband pkenty of dry, earthy and bitter tones to give a nice dry finish.
The hops have serious depth; The flavor really covers tge entire spectrum of hoppy possibilities. Seriously dry-earthy tones of dried wheat, high grasses and crunchy leaves, bitter and prickly hop cones, super dry hopped taste and feel, metalluc citrus and even a series of tropical fruits like grapefruit and starfruit pop out of the hops. Between the oak and malty depth and mega hop effects this thing is seriously complex, a true sipper.
Overall, a high level of complex flavors, limit this beast, as it's appetite is ferocious but the blood is in limited supply. Go slow and enjoy.
