Poured on tap at 21A as part of strong beer month
It was a transparent amber color, With a big off white head and some retention. The aroma was chocked full of big resiny, piny hops, with just a hint of honey from the malt. The first thing I taste is the hops, but what DIPA would it be if that were untrue? But here there is lots of hops in all there resiny goodness, there's just a hint of honey sweetness from the malt. It's the right balance complementing the hops and not struggling for control of the flavor. There is a great balance for such a strong hoppy monster. It's nicely carbonated and goes down my gullet smoothly. Considering ABV this beer is dangerously drinkable and a great DIPA

Poured from a 12oz can best by 10/11/14 into a tulip
A: Pours a gold color with a solid 1+ finger head
S: Grain, caramel, orange and a hint of oak
T: Full of grains up front then citrus/pine come through on the finish
M: Fairly full bodied; viscous but not hot
O: Doesn't just hit you in the face with hops but they're definitely there, more on the palate than nose. Overall quite tasty and the alcohol is hidden; recommended overall

12oz (best by 10/11/2014) into a tulip. Pours a clear straw color w/ a soft white head that leaves behind a thin film, like soap suds, on the glass.
Aroma is floral and a little bit cat pee-ish, maybe some onion too. I've heard references to this aroma before but only noticed it in a few beers. Hard to place but I'm not wild about it. There's some mango and other tropical aromas in here too.
Taste is likewise bready, floral and fruity with a similar taste as in the aroma. The high ABV is certainly well hidden though.
Mouthfeel is soft and delicate, probably what I like most about this beer. Almost feels like a Belgian on the palate, but with a sharp hop bitterness on the finish.
Overall, I'm not sure what to make of this. It's certainly a different DIPA but I don't think it's for me. Too fruity, maybe too malty.
