Good fruity belgian yeast aroma. Dig it. I get a little chocolate malt too. The aroma is really impressive. Great malty base and a lot of spice. It's like a chocolate bar one smell and then a spice cake the next and then a dark malty doppelbock loaded with melanoidins the next.

Deep ruby colored beer that lets alomost no light through, clarity not an issue. Poured with a little white head but that fades and there nothing left after a minute.

Flavor has a sweet/sour interplay of dark malt and something yeasty that isn't really a sour but more a tart fruity ester. Hop bitterness is just enough to keep it honest but that's about all on the hops.

Medium bodied and very lightly carbonated.

I'm kind of torn on this one. It's interesting and shows a lot of complexity but it's not really to my personal taste. I like more of a traditional malty dubbel or a really funky belgian. This is kind of in between.

The 12 oz can poured clear, dark red-brown with a semi-durable tan head that left fine sticky lacing.

Feel: Full body with excellent, soft carbonation.

Cinnamon, vanilla and figs in the nose.

Cinnamon, vanilla and figs dominate the flavor which also has a touch of oak and a malt base. Moderately spicy. About equal balance of bitter and sweet.

O: tasty and complex. Worth seeking.

A- Limited head quickly dissipates over a brown ale. Slight effervescence continues throughout the drinking experience.

S- As it warms, the baking spice autumnal smells come through. A pleasant smelling beer.

T- Stays in keeping with the smell, not overpowering with any booze flavor. At the colder temp, the flavors aren't too pronounced. (Probably intensifies and smooths out as it warms up)

M- A little thin for a high alcohol ale, no burn present.

O- Definitely a drink that I should have left on my counter for a while before drinking it. I'm not running to the store to get another but I certainly wouldn't turn one down if it were offered to me.
