Bought a six-pack of this after I enjoyed it on tap at Churchkey.
A: Dark brown with a three or four-finger manila head that stays around until my first few sips.
S: Main smell is actually a bit citrusy, perhaps lemons. There is a bit of sourness tied in to that as well, and a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg.
T: Starts off with a slightly sour twang. Then there's a light malty, spiciness that comes into the background, but never really takes center stage; also a bit of vanilla. The lemon flavor comes out in the middle, as does some cinnamon. As the sourness dwindles at the end, a bit of roasted malts does come out, though it's pretty gentle.
M: Really lovely. Creamy with gentle carbonation throughout most of the sip.
D: Goes down pretty easy.
I guess I can understand why this beer didn't work for some people, but I find it fairly enjoyable. The sourness is mild and doesn't clash with the spices.
