A: Poured black into a pint glass with ruby around the edges where light can get through with a small light tan head that fades to a small mat
S: smells of roast malt, coffee and chocolate
T: tastes of roast malt, chocolate, coffee, and slight sweetness. swallow brings bitter roast malt and coffee with a bit of chocolate
M: full mouthfeel with soft carbonation. very smooth on the palate
O: a very nice stout. very good flavors and balance. Don't let the oyster shell addition dissuade you.

Old. Canned Dec 2012. Should you age this? I don't know. I did though. Accidentally.

Looks nice. Dark and black. Little lacy froth. A nice dark brown froth. A good froth.

Nose is wacky. Raisiny and sweet. From the age? maybe.

Taste is pretty good. Some chocolate. Some raisin. Some rum. Some espresso. No oyster.

Feel is like a thin syrup. Kinda weird but I kinda like it.

Need to compare to fresh. But with 1.5y of age on it (in a can) it's still a decent stout.

A: appears black with some caramel like tones as you approach the edge of the glass, tan head gone in no time, only a small lacing remains along the edge of the drink.

S: has a thick aroma of sweet and salty with some soy notes.

T: first to hit is a mild flavor of coffee followed by vanilla and some subtle salt notes as it warms.

M: the dryness of the salt hits at the end making it seem like a dry beer, but with plenty of body. Slightly chewy, pretty drinkable, and more and more dryer as you keep on drinking.

O: i believe this beer is pretty straight on with what they were trying to achieve. You have all the fundamentals of a stout, but once you add the oysters it adds a twist in the direction of the beer, as to say, from a dessert beer which would have been a regular stout, it went on to being an appetizer served as a taster to go with those delicious oysters you're about to suck on. If you're going to enjoy it, plan on having something else afterwards cause your mouth is gonna ask for it!

Poured from 12oz can into nonic pint glass.

Appearance: Opaque black- no light coming through when held up to light. Large browned head has a lot of staying power and leaves behind a thick ring of lace when it does dissipate.

Smell: Roasted chocolate and dark fruit aromas backed up by just a touch of herbal hop aromas.

Taste: Begins with a light grassy touch, rounding out to chocolatey and burnt malt flavors. Finish has a bit more herbalness and is even more chocolatey. There is a slight metallic flavor toward the end which dtracts, but luckily is very fleeting.

Mouthfeel: Thicker body with just enough carbonation. Finish is thick and a bit oily.

Overall: This is a very good stout, but it's missing something to make it outstanding. Worth a try, and worth drinking again, but nothing to go out to find.

A: Thick black with a beautiful thin tan head.

S: Malt. Lots of Malt.

T: Chocolatey, and super malty. Sort of tastes salty/earthy but it's hard to explain without having an oyster stout. As far as the style goes this stuff is top notch.

M: Thick and delicious.

O: A great oyster stout. If you haven't had this style yet, seek one out; quite unique and delicious.

Poured can into snifter, nice looking , no notes so I could be skimming on this.
Smell was fantastic- dark fruits , briny tang, caramel malts
Taste is fantastic- don't know if this is best oyster stout tried but it's one of the tastiest stouts definitely has malt upfront raisins- chocolate with a nice tang from the oysters.
Mouthfeel seems spot on - medium bodied. Nice finish with carbonation right.
Heartily recommend
