Canned on 12/16/12. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a light hazy staw color. There's a pretty small white head which fades pretty quickly and doesn't leave much lacing. The aromas are fragrant and full of spices. Cardamom and lavender seem to dominate the nose. There's also some bubblegum yeasty notes in the mix as well. There are also hints of lemon zest and orange peel in the nose. The flavors are somewhat grainy, but clean. This does seem to lack true depth. There's subtle hints of black pepper, giving it a light spiciness. These flavors are pretty floral and herbal. There is also some cinnamon in the mix, which is slightly noticeable in the flavors and aromas. There's a decent bitterness going on. Earthy flavors. It's slightly syrupy sweet, but barely. The mouthfeel is pretty crisp, making it a refreshing brew. It's light with pretty active carbonation. It's on the fuller side of light-bodied. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Would be great with warm weather.

This is an interesting beer. Maybe it's not exactly what I come to expect from a saison, but it's still a decent beer. I really like the herbs and spices used. Nothing special, but not bad. I think this would make a good summer seasonal.

Poured into a Sam Adams glass, developed a light head which dissipated fairly quickly. Appearance was a cloudy straw. Aroma was very unusual, though I'm not to familiar with saisan style, was strong of spice and citrus, spice was like cardamom. Taste was light, almost woody with citrus and cardamom hints. Mouthfeel was light and carbonated with the aftertaste being spicy and lasting.

Light bodied, prickly and tasty Saison. Pale lemon amber in the tall Saxo glass. Handsome foam with plenty of carbonation in the mouth.

This seems more innocuous at first, but it does have a lot of the dry yeastiness. Some lemony taste as if it was flavored like a Witbier. Quite a bitter finish. Seems to loose some significant sudsiness in the glass. Pleasant enough and certainly a far better bargain than many more pretentions Saisons.

A Saison in cans! From the sixer of 12 oz cans bought at the Jug Shop in San Francisco.

A: Bright golden with a fair amount of carbonation, small and large bubbled head that fades fast like a melting mashmallow. A cloudiness to the beer, with a swirl of white sediment near the center.

S: Light and citrusy, reminding me of a heffe weizen. Some spice, perhaps coriander, most likely cardamom as the can indicates. Some Belgian yeast smell as well.

T: Light, dry, citrusy and herby, a grapefruit rind bitterness near the end with herbs. Definite Beligan yeastiness as well. Reminds me of a lemonade with the rind in, and without sugar. Somewhat fruity aftertaste.

M: Light body, medium high carbonation.

O: Very dry, and almost no sweetness. Would go great with some dry cheeses like a parmesan. Its growing on me as I drink it. First time to have a 21st Amendment Brewery’s beer. The picture on the can is outrageous and funny.

Pale yellow in color, very light haze. Airy white head sticks and deflates. Crowned nicely. 3.75

Coriander, cardamom, pepper, yeast funk, light peppermint, and almost an aroma of treacle. Strange, but likable. 3.5

Herbal, like the nose. Cardamom is right there along with white pepper, grapefruit pith and rind, light nuttiness, and a few trapped malt sugars. Lively and spicy with big herbal notes and barely definable citrus. Flatter in the finish. 3.75

Drinks lighter and refreshingly so, but with a tad too much sweetness. Carbonation is big and fluffy. Warrants a more careful approach, as it can burn you out too quickly if you try to guzzle. 3.5

Canned saisons. Steps in the right direction. Not exceptional, but good enough to approve. 3.75

A - pale, golden yellow with a thin lacing of bubbly white head

S - huge Belgian yeast funk, some faint spice, some faint fruit

T - white grapes, Belgian yeast, big fruitiness, funky, a mild bitter finish

M - crisp, well carbonated, medium bodied

This is a decent saison. It's rather typical in flavor, but that's ok if a saison is what you're seeking. This is a sound, balanced beer with a solid drinkability. If you enjoy saisons this is worth finding and trying.

Apparently I really like cardamom; at least I assume that's where the delicious, unusual and hard-to-describe flavour of this enormously drinkable beer is coming from. I'm not big on fruity Belgian yeasts, but that character is very light here, and more than matched by the toasty, bright, slightly dry presumptive-cardamom taste. Bitterness is moderate and balanced by body, mouthfeel is clean and clear.

Poured from a can into a tulip, the beer is a bright, clear, vibrant, goldenrod colorin with no head whatsoever. Aromas of roasted grains and belgian yeast initially, with a sweet, rich spicing from the cardamom. Almost has a buttery, saffron characteristic, too. Flavors are tangy and spiced, with the cardamom blending with nutmeg and cinnamon to achieve a mild warming component. Toasted grain backbone, with a fruity, funky profile from the yeast. Slightly charred and buttered popcorn aftertaste, with a slick, clean, slightly frothed finish. Very tasty beer, throwing a different spin on the Saison style.

A - Not really sure what this one looks like since I drank it from the can but I can assume it's a bright hazy yellow with a 1/2 inch of fizzy white head.

S - Smells of subdued cardamom and spices, decent bittering hops, and some wheat.

T - Not very traditional but I will be damned if it was border line session-able! Just the right amount of hops, wheat flavor is constant and cardamom/spices take a backseat. Also the yeast isn't chalky and comes in rather fruity.

M - Light and bubbly, went down quicker than a Saison should.

Overall I guess I just accepted that is is a bastardized American version of the style. If they were going for drink ability this beer is a winner!
