Been here many times before and after Giants games. It is located two blocks from the stadium, so a great place to have a beer or three before heading to the game.
Selection is usually about the same. They do mix it up and have 1-2 different beers every time I stop in, which is nice. Quality is pretty good, definitely above average all around, with numerous offerings being very good. Beers are a bit pricey but to be expected in SF, I suppose. Their IPAs are generally excellent, with some of the stronger ones leading the pack. Every February they brew beers for Strong Beer Month, along with Magnolia, and these are usually excellent. Worth going out of your way for, for sure.
My experience with the atmosphere is skewed as I am there 95% of the time around a Giants game, so the crowd is mostly Giants fans and it is pretty crowded. They open the outside alleyway on nice gamedays, and this is a welcome addition.
The bar is nice, horseshoe shaped, with numerous seats, but it does get crowded. Tables dot the rest of the place, with a second level and an upstairs bar that is quite nice as well. If it's really crowded, check out the upstairs bar for possibly quicker service. Definitely worth it.
Overall, definitely worth checking out. They make some pretty solid beers with some definitely standing out. Located in the south of Market neighborhood, two blocks from the ballpark. About a 10-15 minute walk from the BART station (Montgomery). Recommended if you are anywhere in the area.
