This was the first brewery I hit in San Francisco. I was eager to make up for some time spent brewery-less in the Mojave Desert (there's no water or people, so no beer - just lots of cool plants.) So, I hit 21st Amendment in mid-February, right smack in the middle of Strong Beer Month. During the month of February, 21st and Magnolia (both in San Fran) brew ridiculously strong beers of many types, as well as their barleywine release. If you drink six such of these "strong beers" between the 2 breweries, you get a free snifter.

Maybe I'll point out that it's not the BEST idea to try to drink all 6 beers in one sitting. Especially since 3 of them left me buzzed enough to feel the need to wildly hang off of cable cars for about a half hour while it wore down.

I liked 21st Amendment. It was very crowded and it's located near the Giants baseball stadium and probably gets even more packed during and after games. It had 2 levels, and you could also sit in the bar area, which was right up front with lots of windows near the street. It was a bit pricey, but most of San Francisco is pricey, so it wasn't overwhelming for the city.

Oh, and apparently, they are also releasing 2 beers in cans: the 21A IPA and the Watermelon Wheat, which is pretty unique for a microbrewery.
