Platinum blonde with blindingly white foam that pits and clings immediately then rings.
Clean cream cracker malts with bit of herbal bite behind it.
Bread dough up front with big grass and coriander hops.
White pepper finish and both herbal bitter and some lingering sweetness to end, like natural cough drops, that lasts forever, turning aspirin. Light, soft, crisp.

Bitterness that is this beer's reputation is certainly there - straight IBUs over any Noble spice (Hallertau and Tettnang here) which is unusual in Germany. Surprised by how soft it is, though, and with some residual sweetness it's just missing a certain snap . A top pils, but not the original version of Prima Pils, which is what I was hoping for.

500ml can served in an ordinary glass. Enjoyed in Freining, Munich area. Before visiting the Wiehenstephan monastery at the 28th of September, 2012.

A: Pours a pale yellow color forming a big bubbled and aired white head. Beer is absolutely clear and head retention is medium to low. Some lacings are formed and left

S: Quite simple in the nose. A mix of sweet grains, bready Lager yeasts and flowery hops. A bit ashy and metallic. Authentic German Lager

T: As the nose, slightly sweet upfront. Sweet malts. Followed by a bready and crispy Lager yeasts. Considerable hop sting which is citrus and earthly. In overall, dry and crispy in taste

M: Very light body and considerable carbonation. Flowery, stingy citrus aftertaste

O: Easy drinking beer. Good session German Lager beer. Recommended

Clear and very light golden in appearance, looking like a watery light beer. It has a rather short-lived white head that does leave some lacing.

The aroma is a balanced mix of hops and malt that is stronger than expected given the light color. The taste is stronger yet, especially the hop note and the surprisingly bitter (but not objectionable) aftertaste.

O: decent pils.

From 07/11/12 notes. Had from a bottle at Idle Hands in the LES New York. 8 oz. pour at their Wednesday tasting in a pint glass.

a - Pours a clear pale yellow color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation.

s - Smells of grains, wheat, bread, and light floral hops, but not much at all. Pretty average.

t - Tastes of grains, floral hops, lightly bitter hops, wheat, and bready malts. Again, a bit bland and average.

m - Low body and moderate carbonation. Easy to drink.

o - Overall an average pilsener. Not much going on in the nose or taste, though neither are bad. Probably wouldn't seek it out again.
