Not sure of vintage, but I purchased it in Indianapolis about a month ago. Served in New Belgium tulip.

A: Pours hazy pale gold with negligible head and lacing. Searching through the haze, I find the beer quite bubbly.

S: Sourness catches me off guard. Smells like an unblended lambic or gueze, albeit much more subdued. Lactic and citrus acid. Next, I find general fruit and floral notes. Overly ripe fruits, such as peach or nectarine, play a supporting role, too.

T: Mellow lactic sourness, white wine, a little earthiness, grass, and some lime/lemon citrus. A moderate bitterness joins pleasant tartness on end of palate, but snaps off cleanly and invites another sip.

M: Medium body and light, soft carbonation. The carbonation level works well with the vinous quality of Pissenlit.

O: Pissenlit represents a different take on the Saison style, and it could be seen as extreme, in its own way, in that it almost completely forsakes spice for tartness. A very good Saison, even if it is slightly askew.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - Hazy light golden body. Well retained big white head.

Smell - Pale malts with a light acidity and floral character. Bretty? If it's brett, it's very mild.

Taste - Much brettier. Light tartness. Pale malts again, but much spicier. Dry in the finish with a slight sweet kick.

Mouthfeel - Light bodied and dry. Well carbonated.

Overall - I'd never peg it as dandelion, but the flavor is very nice.

Buddy of mine from Wavre introduced this to me. Kinda like eating dandelions in a salad for the first time. First sip was WTF. Second sip was kinda interesting. Third sip had me hooked. Sharp, tart, and tastes like Spring in Belgium. This can make Saison DuPont or any other mainstream Belgian farmhouse ale its bitch.
