Pours an heavy looking orange/golden color with a 2 in white head. Carbonation is strong and very evident visually. Despite the large amount of sediment in the bottle I don't see any in the glass.
Smell is slightly funky but not as much so as some other euro-made saisons i've had. Fruity notes that I could best define as "apple-y". Slight hops but nothing particularly floral.
Taste is pretty in line with the smell, except a little stronger in all aspects. A really well balanced taste and I have to say I appreciate that it was not overly "funky".
Mouthfeel is almost perfect for the style. Drinks very easily for the relative heft of the beer.
Overall this is a great example of the style. I'm generally a fan of more "clean" saisons made stateside, but this one may have moved to the top of the list for me. A great blending of flavors and the best utilization of the sometimes abstract "funk" flavor that i've had in a beer.
