Beautiful looking beer, deep clear red with a soft white two finger head that slowly settles, but never disappears. Very fine drippy lacing when I tilt the glass.

Smells like sweet toasted malt, dried fruits, some nice gingerbread spices going on.

Toffee and caramel sweet malts, a touch too sweet maybe. Dried fruits: apricots and dates. Once again that gingerbread spiciness, it's forward but subtle. Really well done. I can't decide if the spice is entirely from the yeast or if maybe there's a touch of rye in here. A little toasty and dry at the end to give it a soft finish and make that sweetness forgiveable.

The mouthfeel is just luxuriously thick and smooth and soft without being heavy or difficult to drink. This is definitely not approaching porter or stout, but there's something to chew on.

The mouthfeel and spiciness define this beer. Both complex and interesting enough without pushing it to overdone like many christmas beers do. The pricetag on this beer doesn't hurt at all, I'll be ordering it whenever I see it till it disappears.
