First off when I popped the lid this bottle erupted like shaken champagne and would not stop foaming all over the place, annoying!
A - fully hazy yellow with plenty of sediment, tower of head is a joke
S - a dizzying mix of florals, spices, fruity esters, and grains
T - fruity esters and bright lavendar floral hop notes mix well together, hints of coriander, seeds, and light leafiness
M - bright and creamy, huge carbonation, mildly bitter
O - the overflowing bottle really pissed me off before I even started, but this brew is unique and even a little mysterious, keeps your palate busy for sure

Tasted from a 33 cl bottle at Bier Circus in Brussels.

A - Dark golden color with some orange. Off-white head was initially thick, but transient. It faded to a thin layer, but had good lacing.

S - Aroma is very interesting and inviting. Dominated by strong citrus/grassy hops without a piney character. The hops blended with brown sugar and sweet malt, along with a hint of alcohol. In the background there are light biscuit and dark fruit aromas.

T - Honey-like sweetness and bready malt are the first impression. Hops are not in the foreground, but are there maintaining perfect balance. Alcohol and Abbey-style yeast notes add complexity, with the yeast contributing fruit, such as plums.

M - Medium body, mouthcoating sweetness, smooth carbonation. Moderate hops bitterness.

O - Very drinkable. This beer has a reputation for being a Belgian hop-bomb; I found it hoppier than usual but still an excellent balancing act between hops and malt.

Attempted to pour from bottle into glass...but about 8 ounces of this 11.2 oz bottle litterally exploded all over the place..it actually got me in the face. So I am reviewing the remaining liquid...
Pours a golden orange color - thick head obviously.
Lots of funk aromas - grassy, citrus, yeast.
Taste is bitter funky wit, grassy, earthy, slightly hoppy.
Its good, not amazing. I love funky sour brews, but this one was a bit strange...good but strange.

A: poured into a snifter to a hazed orange yellow with a large white head that fades to a collar with some nice lacing
S: smells slightly fruity up front with a nice earthiness and slight funk. a little bit of spicy yeast in the nose as well
T: slight fruity esters up front, nice malt flavor, spice from the yeast, a bit of grassiness, a bit of earthiness and ever so slight funk. swallow brings a bit of alcohol, slight lemon and more earthiness
M: medium with nice ans slightly prickly carbonation. very effervescent to keep the flavors moving across the palate
O: a fantastic tripel, good complexity and very nice flavor profile. Very happy to have received this in a trade

330ml bottle served in a Karmeliet tulip glass.

A: Pours a dark orange beige color. Cloudy. Forms a huge creamy, fluffy, persistent white head. Tripel style, i mean, the foam is viscous forming many chunks on the top and many lacings in the glass

S: Smell is a bless. Sweet, fruity and spice. Notes of pears, honey, spices (coriander, vanilla and pepper), wheat, alcohol and flowery hops

T: Taste is complex too. Sweet upfront. Notes of honey, vanilla, pears, sweet malts, wheat, coriander, Belgian yeasts and finally, a good sting of earthy and mainly citrus hops. A sweet beer, in overall, finished with a good and stingy hops bitterness

M: Full body. Heavy and creamy. Good carbonation. Nice bittersweet aftertaste

O: Good drinkability. Excellent Belgian Triple specimens

A - Pours a mid burnt amber shade, topped by three large fingers of off white head with great retention. Chunky lacing follows. Body is alive and cloudy.

S - Light floral hops, acidic apple skin and yeast.

T - Quite bready, rye and other grain, a slightly citric hop bitterness with some distant dried fruit tucked in there.

M - Full body, medium carbonation, no heat.

O - Nicely balanced tripel, abv well hidden.

Draft at The Pour House in Westmont, NJ.

Pours a golden orange-amber color with tangerine edges and a half finger white head that quickly settles into a very thin ring.  Minimal lacing.

Sweet, slightly hoppy aroma with zesty spice, estery light fruit notes, pale malt and boozy sweetness.  Hints of pepper and alcohol followed by apricot, apple and pear.

On the lighter end of medium bodied with subtle earthy hops countered by a sweet floral presence, light fruits, zesty spice and sweet boozy heat.  Some dry bitterness followed by pepper and coriander spice, apricot and apple before a rush of overly sweet booze comes in.  Kind of all over the place, thin bodied, overly spicy and harshly boozy.  I used to think that this was a great beer but I'm not much of a fan anymore.

appearance: Pale yellow, slightly hazy. Good airy white foam top. Great lacing.

smell: Sweet malts and fruity. Bit flowery as well.

taste: Sweet malts with a nice tropical fruit undertone. Followed by quite a spicy bitter kick.

mouthfeel: High carbonation, quite thin.

overall: Not sure about this beer. It's just a lovely drinkable beer. It's deceptively easy to drink considering the ABV. It's quite fresh with the fruity and slightly sweet malts followed by a spicy kick. So in that regard, an excellent summer beer. But i don't get these beers that taste quite similar to a proper regular beer but has nearly twice the price and ABV. I just don't think it's that special. I've had better.

750ml bottle, paper wrapped, with 'Abbey Beer' the only outward indicator of style parameters, and 8% ABV.

This beer 'pours' as a messy, volcanic eruption at first go, more thinly foamy bubbles than liquid. After a swift cleanup, and subsequent titration approach, I'm presented with a cloudy, sediment-specked, bright medium golden hue, with a good three fingers of sudsy off-white head, which settles amazingly quickly when at rest, leaving hasty remnants of chunky lace around the glass.

It smells of grainy, wheaty malt, sharp lemon and orange rind citrus, verdant yeast, white pepper, and a simmering booze warmth. The taste is warm, peppery yeast, grainy malt, earthy muddled lemon, and musty, somewhat gamey, uh, hops, I suppose.

The carbonation is decidedly tame, after its initial, and persistent, sink necessitating outbursts, the body a fleeting medium weight, with a generally agreeable smoothness. It finishes sweetly grainy, a portion of that likely due to the deftly assimilated alcohol, with a somewhat prickly leafy hoppiness, wilting lemon tartness, and softened earthy yeast notes meekly offering counterbalance.

A decent enough tripel, actually less boozy than the norm, a fact stumbled over whilst determining just the right amount of moral outrage to target at an admittedly bottle conditioned offering - how much is too much? Anyway, this is a pretty hefty contender, taste-wise - the usual aforementioned booze replaced by a sensible dose of hop and yeast zinginess. All right by me, though I still have to wipe down the sink - through which very, very little of this beer actually passed, I must state for the record.

A: Poured from a bottle to a goblet. Had a golden yellow color and a cloudy consistency. There was an inch and a half of foamy, long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: A subtle aroma of malt, yeast, and some light fruit.

T: Tasted of malt (more than you might expect for this style), Belgian yeast, a little lemon, and some spices (i.e., pepper). A solid, well constructed flavor.

M: A highly carbonated beer with a lively, prickly finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is a good, well made, easy to drink Tripel. Much smoother and underplayed than others of the style, but drinkable nonetheless.

The color is yellow with some orange notes on the edges. Nice big foamy head. White and thick! The head sticks well to the glass. The aroma is intense. Fruity mainly with some yeast presence in the nose. On the taste, again its fruity with some hops in there for some kick. Very carbonated in the mouth. For a tripel this one drinks fast and so easy. Dangerous beer. Nicely balanced. A very nice tripel. Very dry finish too, wants to drink more!

A very nice beer.
