375 ml poured into a Delirium Tremens snifter

A: Golden pale yellow with a white soapy head that quickly dissipated o a rim of medium bubbles with a few left over patches of small bubbles in the center.

S: Earthy hay like almost grassy hops on the nose with a gentle sweet malt character in the background. Definitely a hoppy example.

T: Sweet malt comes through then followed by the hops. Not as hoppy as I assumed. Definitely more malt forward with that typical musty farmhouse thing going on.

M: High carbonation adds a nice feel to the sweet malty beer and adds to the dryness. Nice bitterness lingers and is quite refreshing. Definitely feels thicker than a dry 5.5 % abv saison but saison yeast coupled with high carbonation can work wonders.

O: A nice malt forward, yet hoppy saison. Nice farmhouse character, drinkable and sessionable.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a Sierra Nevada hop tulip glass.

A: Pours a golden color with a lot yeasty cloudiness and a huge 4 inch head.

S: Yeast, a hint of light spice, some light fruit.

T: A pretty good saison. Very grassy, herbal, with a hint of lemon. Green apples present as well. Some light spices in the form of white pepper. No sourness, very little tartness.

M: Very highly carbonated, too much actually. It affects the drinkability until come of it dissipates. You also have to wait several minutes for the 5 inch head to recede.

O: An above average saison but the over-the-top level of carbonation hinders this one a bit.

Flavoursome but easy drinking Saison that hits the spot.

aroma: citrus/rich malt predominate

taste: peach, apricot. clove, rich malt, banana, white wine, orange and slight grapefruit.

Fruity and distinctly Belgian with a pleasant dryness. Well balanced and a good beer to have with friends.

S: Musty, yeasty, slightly floral, grassy, touch of fruit.

L: Cloudy orangish yellow, nice fluffy head, decent retention, great lacing.

T: Grassy, earthy malt, slightly grainy. Some mineralness and herbal bitterness leading to a fairly dry finish. Touch of fruit in the bitterness.

M: Very smooth medium body. Med-high carbonation.

A solid saison, i really enjoyed the flavors, i just wish the flavors were a little more bold, felt like everything was too subtle.

This is my first try of a belgian Saison! A great beginning as I can see!
It's a saison of a light, pale orange color and a nice big foam.
It has a nice sweet, malty, and earthy aroma.
Taste is malty and earthy too, it begins fruity, a bit tart and sweet but then comes some bitter notes.
Hoppiness is at good level, aftertase is bitter but not dry.
Great body and carbonation.

Served chilled into a fluted tulip.

Pours a hazy bronze color with an inch plus of airy beige head that slowly recedes leaving moderate surface layer and lacing.

Very strong earthy, spicy aroma.

Very well balanced flavor profile. Earthy, grassy, hint of lemon with pepper and spices.

Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation that gives it a crisp finish. Earthy aftertaste on the back of the tongue.

Overall, I really enjoyed this saison. I was afraid from the aromas it was going to focus too much on one flavor or another. However, it is very well balanced and pleasant.

Bottle

Port Bottle Shop
Carlsbad, CA

Unfiltered golden orange with a tall and thick white head that stays around for a long time. Plenty of lacing down the glass.

Grassy and earthy aroma. Simple and pleasant.

The aroma is better than the flavor. It seems a bit like a wheat saison and not as sweet or fruity, or funky, as I tend to like them. A simple farmhouse ale. Better than average.

Medium mouthfeel. Easy to drink.

A terrific, easy drinking, light table beer. Would go great with food.

11.2 oz bottle was poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a minimal head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pale orange color with great clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing on glass as beer was drank.

Smell: Vanilla, pear, apple, powdery yeasty esters, spiciness, bready and pale malts, and Belgian candy.

Taste: Pear, apple, lemony, powdery yeast, spicy, pilsner and pale malts, some Belgian candy, and lingering mild bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, a little chewy, a little dry, medium to high carbonation, and enjoyable.

Overall: This Saison is like a light triple. I was expecting more on the spicy and flavorful end, but was left short of my expectations. Still happy that it is a borderline triple.

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy amber color ale with a nice tan foamy head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of light rustic malt with sweet undertones also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by rustic malt notes with light residual sugars notes and a mildly spicy yeast notes with bready undertones. Body is full with limited carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Wonderfully executed with great drinkability and just enough complexity.
