Passed off to me a deep, rust-tinged amber color, with a nice 3/4 inch off-white head that hangs around for a while and leaves great cling. Very clear with good carbonation. The nose is not as strong as I'd like: caramel and roasted malt notes with more subtle citrus and metallic hints, as well. It has a welcome earthiness about it. The taste is very smooth malt flavors that only begin to allow the hop bitterness to express itself at the very end. There's an almost creamy quality to this amber. It also has a bit of wheat bread and ever-so-subtle rye cracker in the mix, and just a touch of citrus rind from the hops, as well. There's a smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel to it that finishes crisp and clean. The first few sips felt a bit too watery, but that sensation seemed to go away over time.
This is a very nice amber that Lakefront has put together. It has stellar balance between the hops and malts that makes it dangerously drinkable--you hardly notice that you've just put away three pints while talking about the politics surrounding the Wisconsin state budget or whether the Packers will get a chance to repeat this year. While it's a favorite of the Milwaukee hipsters, this is an amber for all people and should not be missed.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a perfect pint glass
A - It pours a ruddy orange color with an inch of beige head.
S - The aroma has elements of iron, tea, orange, and caramel.
T - I taste some caramel malt and floral hops. It tastes a little like rose hips and/or hibiscus.
M - Moderate and silky smooth.
O - It is an interesting and flavorful beer. It is not necessarily my favorite style, but it is worth a try.

Poured from a bottle into glass. Bottle was dated 10/29/13. Drank on 1/9/14.
A - Cloudy amber color, modest head, minimal lacing.
S - Pleasant caramel smell, not overwhelming. Preempts the taste very well.
T - Well-balanced, clean taste with just a hint of a mild malty/caramel aftertaste.
M - Light on the tongue, not overly carbonated.
O - Very drinkable amber, confident in its flavor but not overly showy. This is yet another excellent beer from Lakefront. The average beer drinker would enjoy this.
