Imperial Maibock
Malty aromas blend with German noble Hallertauer hops. The flavor is bold and malty, with a robust sweetness provided by ample amounts of Munich pale malt that continues to the clean finish. A great crowd pleaser, and a fabulous beer for Carnival, whether you’re celebrating down in the French Quarter or right here with us in Milwaukee.

Yellow and gold pour, dull. Aroma was toasty, almost skunk like vegetal matter.
Taste was a boozy maibock, more aal parts and upped alcohol. Toasty stuff is there, but the increased alcohol is not welcome and way too noticeable, bitter hops but not enough, just long boil stuff, not giving any flavor.
Not one worth revisiting under almost any circumstance.

Pick up a sixer of this before a little fishing outing. Best by date suggests it's good for another month. Poured right from the fridge into my Lakefront pint glass.
L: Pours a rusty amber with about a half-inch of off-white head that dissipates very quickly to nothing. No cling on the glass. Mild visible carbonation.
S: Caramel malts and sourdough bread notes in the nose. Some grassy and earthy hop notes poke out. Just a touch of white wine, as well.
T: There's caramel malt at the front, with a definite tartness coming into play. Earthy and grassy hops make their presence felt a bit, but this beer moves from malt to a bit of clear alcohol back to malt without them doing much on the tongue. There's just a hint of white wine coming through in the middle. The back closes pretty quickly, and there isn't much at all of an aftertaste.
F: This one feels a little watery. It's medium-bodied but lacks a good deal in terms of creaminess or carbonation. As others have said, it feels flat. There is a bit of brightness, and it closes quite cleanly.
O: I'm a big fan of Lakefront, but I'm often disappointed by their seasonal offerings. This one is no exception. There's just not enough going on with the flavor profile, and it's bogged down by the watery mouthfeel. I wouldn't go out of my way to get this one.

I like to try different styles of beer, however I must admit that I am a big hop IPA kind of guy. This beer really comes in kind of flat with not much flavor. Not a do-over for me.

Guessing this years 7.6% variant is a disaster because of the reviews. Regardless no turning back now.
A - Well it's no malt liquor! Head is a 1/4 inch that sticks around a bit atop a mildly hazy amber brown color.
S - Some malt sweetness and a touch or residual sugars but no ethanol smell which is OK still it's nothing to get excited over.
T - A simple helle's lager has a good sweet malt body and enough hops to keep the high octane burn at bay. It's good.
M - For the ABV it's very drinkable but flavor wise it's lacking.
Overall as expected for the style it's a big malty beer with an easy drinking helles lager body. I got what I paid for.
