From the brewery . . . poured a hazy gold with diacetyl (buttered popcorn) and orange peel aroma. Tart wheat flavor is followed by orange peel and coriander then muddled diactly finish. It was my 1st beer of the day so I tried to like it but could not. This beer has fermentation problems yo!

DATE TASTED: December 28, 2013... GLASSWARE: Hoegaarden tumbler...OCCASION: post-NFL playoffs... APPEARANCE: hazy, yellow-orange hue--approaches pale orange juice--with a thin white head; reasonable lacing... AROMA: faint drifts of orange intermingle with wheaty esters--weak and ephemeral... PALATE: rather thin and flat; slow carbonation--swiftly consumed! probably a thirst quencher in the summer months, but not such a suitable companion in the winter...TASTE: softened, suppressed peach, orange zest, subtle lemon...a watery, tuned down wit... OVERALL: tough to hate on this one, as it may well be the season weakens its experience; still, the overall effect is an unmemorable one, an American wit that cleans and rinses an already clean palate...

I had this during a visit to the brewery, where it was described as "like Blue Moon," which thankfully it was not. It was not all that sweet, but was very clovey in taste with a somewhat disturbing aroma. All-in-all, I'm not a fan.

Appearance was a pale cloudy with one finger of head. Aroma was bad with no spice and a stale corn smell covered in sweetness. Taste was very clovey, and OK. Mouthfeel was also a little flat.

Pours a hazed and cloudy pale gold color with visible yeast in suspension. Frothy two-finger head with good retention and adequate lacing.

Subtle aromas of wheat and lemon citrus. Opens grainy and rough on the palate with a tang of wheat, followed by a mild hop bitterness. Spices come into play with suggestions of orange peel and coriander. White pepper surfaces in the background. Crisp with lively carbonation. Finishes somewhat dry.

Not an exemplary Witbier by any means, but certainly passable for the style.

A: Pours cloudy pale yellow, <1 finger of head that dissipates very quickly.
S: Orange peel and coriander are very evident, nothing else of significance.
T: Again, orange peel & coriander are dominating tastes with occasional hint of lemon. All in all, not a great amount of flavor. Got better as I continued to drink, but still unimpressive.
M: Light & fizzy, mild acidity.
D: Not that great of a beer, just average. For the style, I'd prefer a Blue Moon or Sam Adams White Ale. I likely would not buy another Lakefront White Beer, but wouldn't reject a free one.

I poured this beer into my tumbler at 50 degrees and watched a cloudy beer appear. The beer poured a white head that was loaded with tiny little bubbles. The lacing was good, yea!. The taste was sweet and thick like. The head was gone very fast. I did not care for the beer however if you like a Witbier you should try it.

Poured hazy, pale gold into a pint glass. Very small white head and a nice rim of laciness.

Smells of slight orange / citris with some malt

Taste of orange and spice with a hint of wheat

Mild to light body with lots of carbonation.

Average Witbier, one was enough.

Looks like a nice hazy golden yellow, nice head.

Not much aroma going on even for the style. A little graininess.

Taste is rather bland also, no hint of the coriander or citrus the label promised. Didn't smell it either though so no real surprise.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp and pleasant.

Overall this puts the F in "Forgettable".

Thanks for another Wisconsin tick, Bobby.

A: The beer pours a surprisingly clear golden straw color with a large white head and a bit of sticky lacing.

S: Smells of wheat and straw with a fair amount of yeast. A light spice, white pepper and a bit of coriander, with some definite orange peel and grass. Mildly sweet with a bit of bread and citrus.

T: Almost medicinal from the intense floral notes. A lot of rose, which seems strange, toasted malt, honey, and some wheat bread. A slight citrus note and some mild spice. The flavor really doesn't correspond to the aroma.

M: Light to medium in body with a medium level of carbonation.

O: Wasn't a fan of the flavor on this one. It smelled alright, though.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a Uinta brewing pilsner glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are average.

Served refrigerator cold. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a one finger beige head of no real cream, okay thickness, and below average retention. Colour is a hazy dull yellow-gold. Not a very impressive appearance for a witbier. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Wheat, lemon, lemon peel, clean malts, and fresh citrusy notes from the hops. Appealing. An average strength aroma. No yeast or alcohol is detectable.

T: Fresh lemon peel, some grapefruit, and other tropical citrus notes. Clean malts lend it body but add little. It's a strange witbier, but an enjoyable one. I do wish the fruit character was more focused and consistent, but it's a pleasant flavour all around. Some honey. Maybe a bit of spice. Quite nectary, which I like. Decently balanced and built, but not real complex or subtle. It's not boring or bland, but it leaves much to be desired.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Too heavy on the palate. Too thick. A bit overcarbonated. These qualities make it overbearing, which a witbier is never supposed to be.

Dr: A pretty enjoyable witbier, but nothing to write home about. I'd have it on draught at a bar for a decent price, but it isn't anything unique or special. I do like the nectar flavours. Very drinkable, but lacking sufficient complexity.

12oz. bottle courtesy of my friends at FSRI. Served in a pilsener glass. Poured a pale, translucent yellow with a dense two inch bright white head and copious tiny bubbles effervescing in solution. Head eventually dissipates into a consistent surface skim. Some thick bands of lacing are revealed as the brew is consumed. Nose suggests lemon zest, yeast, coriander and hint of skunk. Taste is very muted. Some citric acid, but also a buttery quality; not too much flavor. Mouthfeel is very light-bodied and lively. Goes down easy, but a weak representation of the style.

Tried on June 21, 2008 12 oz

Small tight very white head. Beer is hazy very pale yellow. Aroma is strong with coriander, green apple, but also a bit salty and metallic. Coriander in the flavor as well as some orange. It finishes tart and refreshing. Flavors could be stronger and prefer a fuller, chewier body.

I bought a Lakefront 8-pack variety from Woodman's in Janesville, WI for about $11 in Fall 2010.

Pours a very pale and cloudy yellow color with that typical wheat scent. There is a decent taste of citrus but the overal taste of the beer feels a little weak to me which makes for some very very easy drinking. Reccomended to those who don't like beer all that much, this is a good beginner beer.

A- Pours a hazy yellow, with a thin head that dissipates almost instantly.

S- Smells like orange, followed by spice and wheat.

T- Very light, and has some of that citrus flavor, but very little spice or wheat flavor.

M- Super light, almost watery.

O- Not nearly as complex or spicy as any of the wheat beers I really like. Nothing offensive, sure, but not something I'll buy again, or even something I'll recommend to others.

Still working my way through the sampler. The label is notched Nov, week 4. Poured into a Duvel tulip. Very light yellow body that is only a touch hazy. One finger white head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing.

Aroma is light, with some notice of grain (wheat), and a hint of citrus. Not much else.

The flavor starts like a typical witbier but is quickly masked by sweet lemon and orange. Just a slight note of spice in the background.

Light mouthfeel and decent drinkability. Not one I would repeat often.

Pours a clear pale yellow color, little head and no lacing. Says on the bottle that it's unfiltered but it looks pretty darned filtered to me as it's not very cloudy and I don't see much yeasty goodness in my pint glass.

Smell has the typical yeasty aroma that a witbier has, slight aroma of orange.

Had higher hopes for this one as I like witbier, the smell was encouraging but the taste was quite a letdown, very watery. My initial reaction was, "where's the taste?" Has a slight yeasty aftertaste, but nothing really worthy.

2nd Lakefront beer I've had and both have been disappointing, glad I got them in a mix pack with a single bottle of each.

Bright sunray with fading clouds of white over top. Smells of wheat, vanilla, lemonade. Tastes of lemons, slight vanilla, pear, and rather dry in body. Light bodied with light carbonation. A juicy product that is more homebrew-esque than it is a great representation of the style.

Pours a cloudy dull orange, light brown with plenty of haze and apparently sediment flowing throughout it. Nice aroma of citrus rind, orange, keeps the clove in check, nothing too estery. Just bready citrus rind, which I dig.

Taste, some coriander still seeps in, even if it was not obvious from the whiff of the aroma, but the citrus helps to obscure it from being a bother. Lots of carbonation also help to keep the spices from bogging down the palate. Some white pepper like notes. Not really my favorite style, but there's nothing 'wrong' with this beer, its standard fare.

I dunno who I would recommend this to, even though it is fair. I guess people who like lighter, non hoppy beers with seasoning type herbs in it.

A slight haze is very present in this golden colored beer the sits below a thin lacing that started out as a medium sized white head at best.

Aroma is a pretty good balance between a light sour citrus and a light grainy/wheat.

Some grain is present in a light sour lemony citrus hops tasting light bodied beer that leaves a light dry aftertaste/

This is a decent beer but nothing really special.

Pours a pale, yet not cloudy, hazey, or even yeasty gold. Looks like a Euro lager. Not a wit thats for sure. Very light bubbling and hardly any head to speak of. The aroma held some of the Nice Belgian spices and a bit of wheaty sweetness. The taste was ok, very light on the coriander and orange pell, but you'll know its there. A very light character and body. Gave the feel of as good lager and the very muted flavors of a wit.

12oz. bottle poured into an imperial pint. Bottled week 3, Feb 2010. Thanks to BeerFMAndy for the bottle!

(A)- Pours a cloudy pale yellow color that produced an immediately dissipating white head.

(S)- Lemon & orange citrus with a spicy wheat.

(T)- A spicy, very spicy wheat with bits of lemon & orange citrus.

(M)- A good carbonation level. Rather spicy with plenty of coriander.

(D)- A decent beer with a flavorful/spicy profile. I could have a few easily.

This brew is a slightly cloudy yellow-orange color with a thin white head. Very little lacing. The aroma is citrusy with a pinch of spice. Light-bodied and crisp, and it has a fruity character. Oranges and lemons dominate, along with some spice and yeast. There is an underlying sourness here and there that kind of throws things off though. The finish is crisp, short and fruity. All in all a pretty forgettable Wit.
