Toasty, spicy and sweet, the brewers at Lakefront Brewery take all the wintry flavors of spicecake and roll them into a savory, peppery and succulent lager. That's right- lager!
Deep amber in color, the beer pushes against bronze and brown hues, darkened by its bright clarity and shadowed with a creamy ecru lather. Spicy aromas of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove are wrapped in the floral perfume of honey before diving head first into a malty sweet taste. Flavors hit the tongue with the savory toastiness of gingersnaps, caramel, toffee and the expected spice cake backbone.
And as the beer opens up, its those holiday spices that go from Yankee Candle fragrances toward a spicy offset to the malt sweetness. Woodsy, herbal and spicy, the warm middle palate remains sweet, malty and savory with those cake like flavors as the simple balance works across the middle palate.
Medium full on the body, its amber-like demeanor suggests a more medium bodied taste, but its long draw of sweetness hints toward strong ale. Spicy with rum to close, the beer extends graciously with gingerbread and spice cake once more.

Brown appearance, doesn't bring the head though. Disappointing. Gives you all those holiday spice notes and spice rack, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin.
Smooth taste, its a strong beer, but I think they got in trouble for saying it was 11% before, it was nowhere near that. Anyways, is there a little orange and chocolate malt in here? Nice.
I don't know what it is about this one, but its one of my favorite xmas beers.

22oz bottle, 9.6% ABV, 2015. Pours transparent light amber with a large off-white head. Smells of clove, nutmeg, orange peel, and light malt. The taste follows closely with spices, orange peel, malt, and some honey. The spices linger into the aftertaste. Medium body and higher carbonation. Overall, there's a lot of holiday spice in this beer, so grab it if you want a tasty wintery drink.

L: Pours brilliant garnet amber, ΒΌβ cream colored foam cap, dissipates to a thick film.
S: Malt, honey, orange and spice aromas.
T: Rich deep honey flavors blending with rich malt, orange zest and spices.
F: Medium body and medium high carbonation but comes across soft giving the beer a little creaminess.
O: This is a stealth beer β it does not taste the least bit alcoholic and certainly does not taste like a 9.4 % abv beer.
