From BeerAdvocate Magazine Volume II, Issue V:

Huge pillowy off-white head forms from a normal pour, and the hops have a say in all of this as the retention is spectacular. Weathered copper color with a perfect clarity. Smells of pine, mint, hemp oil, lemongrass and blonde tobacco from the hops ... not much from the malt which screams IPA. Medium body seems a tad thicker from the hop oil on the palate that creates this deep smoothness. Surprisingly, not a ton of bitterness, which is nice, as the complex hop flavor dominates throughout with thick herbal, faint pine, grapefruit peel, crushed hemp seeds and mint. The malt character tried to get a taste in edgewise and succeeds by a pinch with a clean and sweet biscuit tone. All of that is smacked down by the hops again. Finishes slightly bitter with a long road of hop flavor that just sticks to the palate.

This IPA outshines most as it drops a load of flavor yet keeps the bitterness in check so you can actually taste the beer rather than your taste buds being numbed by excessive amounts of alpha acids, the bitter oil from the hops. Hopheads need to seek this beer out.

Poured one and a half bottles into an impy pint glass a hazed burnt orange color with a thick foamy white head that leaves a half ring of broken lace as it settles.Leafy hops dominate with a bit of orange marmalade in the nose, not in ur face hoppy.Great hop hop complexity on the palate ranging from grassy/herbal to ctric smash, a sweetish caramel base holds up to the hops.Wow Ianice IPA here with great complexity,a great midwestern IPA.

A: A hazy medium copper with lots of orange. The head is persistant and off-white with rocky bubble forming a thin cap and leaving lacing on the glass.

S: A moderately citrus hops aroma with mostly a lemon-lime like scent. The malt aroma is very enticing, it's biscuity and a little sweet. It smells like I've got an older bottle where the hops have faded but it's not too old. There is a moderately-low alcohol aroma and a light fruity ester.

T: A strong citrus hops flavor and moderately strong hops bitterness. There is a moderate caramel and light biscuit malt flavors with only a light sweetness up front. A low orange-like fruit ester. The finish is dry and the aftertaste is of citrus and hops bitterness.

M: A creamy medium-light bodied beer with moderately-strong carbonation. No astringency. A light alcohol warmth.

O: A good IPA that might be great if fresh and I'll keep my eyes open for a recently delivered bottle. What I have in front of me have a decent balance but I want brighter and stronger hops aroma and flavor but the balance between malt and bitterness is right where it should be to make and bitter beer that allows you to enjoy several. It's not the IPA I'd want to buy if zombie apocalypse is about to start.

Served on tap at Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee, WI. Poured a cloudy dark orange body with a thin white head. Aroma is piney and spicy hops. Medium bodied with great hop flavor and a malt character that backs it up well, yet keeps the hops at the fore front. Excellent drinkability from this IPA.

Pours into my glass a wonderfully clear amber orange with a creamy inch of head on top that leaves sticky patches of lacing across the side of the glass. Aromas start off with citric and floral hops upfront. Grapefruit is there along with a resinous quality. Mellow toasty note with caramel accents. Very nice.

First sip brings a crisp, somewhat toasty malt body upfront with a touch of caramel that is quickly overtaken by a rush of floral and citric hop flavors. Grapefruit moves in as it flows down with a touch of toasted grain and a good blast of bitterness. Finishes a bit dry.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly chewy, goes down smoothly. Overall, a solid IPA from Lakefront, a brewery that I find I often overlook. I'm very glad I gave this one a shot and I'd pick it up again.

Poured into a 12 oz Pint glass the beer has a dark orange or copper hue. The head was off white and disappeared quickly. It smells strongly of citrus. The taste follows the smell and has a prickly carbonation. I found the malt in this beer to over-power the hop profile. This would be an OK session beer but I would not search it out.

A new beer for this area, and a wonderful example of an IPA. I really liked this beer. Poured into a pint glass it was a clear golden color with a thick white sticky head. It had an earthy aroma, mostly pine but also some citrus. The citrus came through more in the taste, and the pine was also there. Not a hop bomb, but a more subtle flavor that lingered quite well. Definitely want more of these.

My first beer from this brewery. I recently made a road trip to Wi and stopped in Milwaulkee. I had it at this hotel I stayed at. It poured a mix of gold and amber colors and remained cloudy. The beers head was thick but soon dissipated but the lacing was very prominent (much like a Guinness) unique for a regular IPA. The taste starts sweet and a piny or earth hop flavor slowly workes it's way in. You expect it to become bitter but never comes. This is a great intro to anyone who is afraid of other IPAs , the hop taste is there but pretty much no bitter. I usually like atleast some bitter but the outright flavor of the hops in this brew made up for it.

on tap at the Gate in Brooklyn NY, pours lighter honey amber, typical tan head shows decent retention and then leaves scattered lacing on the glass. Grainy hop nose gleefully portends what is to come. Hops come through loud and clear, grainy and also somewhat floral. Nice enough stuff that seems to have made the trip from good ole Wisconsin in fine form. Nice serviceable and quite enjoyable IPA

generous pour produced a huge carbonation head with heavy lacing and a hazy amber hue. it has a great piney hoppy smell that isn't too heavy on the nose.

this is slightly bitter but balanced out by the malts to give a great drink and a carbonated to smooth finish.

a darn good ipa that doesn't really compare to a two hearted.
