Bottled August 1st Week - Pours a clear, light copper with a soapy white head that dissipates rather quickly into some residual bubbles around the edges.
Tropical fruit right up front with some caramelly sweetness. Pineapple and mango with a dank resin aroma behind it. Hints of bitter grapefruit pith and malted grain.
The sweetness and tropical fruit really come through up front with a dank, slightly bitter finish. Mango is the winner. This drinks much more like a pale ale though. I am not seeing IPA characteristics but I DO like the flavors that are coming through.
Slightly thin with a lighter body than expected. Great carbonation level though that really comes across the tongue.
This is a tasty brew for those lighting the fruity notes of hops. I wanted a bit more body, but this is enjoyable as a pale ale IMO.

12 oz. bottle, with bottled on date 12/04/2013 printed on the bottleneck. Finally getting around to trying this staple beer from Lakefront Brewery, acquired as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - Pours a murky burnt sienna orange with a finger and a half of fluffy khaki head. Nice head retention, and thin strands of scattered lacing. Looks pretty nice.
S - Smell is nice - caramel malt breadiness, green apple, fruity yeast must, light spruce / pine / grapefruit / herbal hoppiness, earthy and twiggy, with some tea leaf like sweetness.
T - Taste follows the nose - bready caramel malt, green apple, musty earthy yeast, herbal & piney, grapefruit bitterness, and some twiggy tea leaf sweetness.
M - Feel is crisp and clean, with lingering caramel malt, and green apple stickiness. Mildly resinous hop presence.
Overall, a solid drinking, easy going IPA with a moderate 6.60% abv, although it lies firmly within the realm of the typical IPA. Glad to have tried it, but there isn't much here to set it apart from the rest of the pack. Still, I would have it again.
