Pours a very hazy, amber color with a large one inch slightly yellowed head sitting on top. Really nice retention and some fine bubbled clumpy lacing.

Aroma is pretty nice. A good burst of citrus dominates with sort of an earthiness to it as well. A sweet pale malt is also lingering.

Taste is really quite nice. A nice bit of citrus up front, with a subtle sweetness. Low bitterness and occassionally metallic. Just crisp and refreshing, really clean.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a great carbonation tingle.

Drinkability is high. Great flavor and presumeably low alcohol. A really solid IPA. Completely undervalued. As I get further into it, I think it's just a crazy drinkable "IPA". Due to the relatively low bitterness I don't know that it quite classifies. I suppose it does. I really dig it though.

Pours a clear amber with a medium tan head. Smells of pine and lemon. Taste begins with some grapefruit rind, then some apricot, then some sweet grain, and finishing with a pine cone finish. Medium mouthfeel. Low, smooth carbonation levels. Overall a good IPA.

Pours out to a thin white head with little lacing (could be a dirty glass?) and clear amber color. Aroma is hop forward with mostly piney-spicy hops and pale and crystal malts. Flavor is light, hoppy and has a light, clean malt backdrop with a clean finish. Mouthfeel is light. Overall, a good easy drinking and nearly sessionable IPA.

12oz. bottle served into a nonic pint glass

Pours a pretty typical IPA color -- that classic, warm orange color. Half a finger of disparate, sudsy offwhite head form. Good lacing despite the unimpressive consistency of the foam.

The first thing I smell is caramel malt, which is not a good sign. But rest assured, there's hoppiness to be found here. Some top-end pineapple represents the most exciting aspect of this IPA, and there's lots of orange and spruce to play off of the sweet malt profile.

When people talk about balanced IPAs they might unwittingly have this beer in mind. It has juicy hop flavor without much bitterness. I'm actually disappointed in how not-bitter Lakefront IPA is. There's caramel malt and biscuit malt sweetness, but not so much that it dominates the fruit flavors from the lupulin. It finishes very clean; too clean for me.

This is a medium-bodied beer, perhaps even on the lighter side of medium. It's pretty wet and juicy if you're into that. I like a drier mouthfeel typically but this is still solid.

Overall, this is a very Midwestern IPA. It isn't crazy with the hops, but it is hoppier than the East Coast style. It's very balanced, and balance has a place in the IPA world.

Pours orange with some amber hues. Fluffy off white long lasting head, with lots of lace. Nose is of grassy, citrus hops. Body is medium with a good amount of carbonation. Taste is of juicy citrus. Hints of pine, and notes of malts in the finish. Very, very nice!

Part of an eight beer variety sampler pack from Lakefront. The best of the bunch in my opinion.

Poured a hazy copper with a half finger of light tan head, leaving some lacing.

Orange and mixed citrus on the nose which was pleasant but unfortunately rather weak.

The taste kicked it up a notch. The overall character is hoppy without being overly bitter. Quite nice. I'm getting citrus, pine, and a bit of spearmint.

Medium feel holds together nicely over the palate.

Overall +0.5 for being pleasantly hoppy without numbingly bitter. Highly drinkable.

Lakefront Brewery 'IPA' @ 6.9% , served from a couple of 12 fl oz bottles purchased for $2.60 each

A-pour is a pale gold from the bottle to a slightly hazy/murky gold in the glass with a small off-white head which is quickly dissapating leaving a minimal lace ring along the pint

S-hint of pine on the intial pour

T-big tasty American IPA , spicy on the lips

MF-? carbonation , seems to feel full bodied

Ov-ok beer , decent IPA , get past the slight funky carbonation/appearance and enjoy this beer

Lakefront IPA pours a hazy copper with a decent head that doesn't stick around too long. The aroma is grapefruity citrus with some orange, and some sweet, caramel malt. The flavor is bitter upfront, with some nice herbal citrusy flavor. The caramel malt sweetness is quickly followed by an odd, almost sour finish. Overall this is a solid IPA, but the weird sour finish detracts a bit.

The appearance is ridiculously cloudy. Huge particles of sediment. The head is big and foamy. Color is a glowing yellowish orange. Surprising but cool-looking.

The aroma is a nice piney hop, some flowery esters. Only a tiny hint of citrus in there as well. A really good hop aroma with a bready English malt base.

The taste is a major bitter woody/pine hop, with oaky notes. Heavy perfume, serious bite on the back end. Harsh alcohol on the back end. Its strength is shocking to me. Zero malt presence by comparison.

The feel is a creamy body, with some smooth finishing. Closer to an imperial IPA really. Brutally hoppy, incredibly woody. Good but harsh and challenging.

Pours a nice clear light copper with an edge of white head and a little sticky lacing.
The smell is very mild and thin. Some malt and some floral and piney hops.
Tastes mellow and spicy at the same time. Not overwhelming hops but they really come out in the aftertaste. There's a long lasting bitterness with just a bit of sweetness behind it.
Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy. Just a bit of tight carbonation gives it a sizzle going down.
Very drinkable and would go well with many strong foods and cheeses.
