A: pours a nice golden yellow. lacing comes off pretty weak leaving about a centimeter worth of head. color is quite beautiful though.
S: Sweet grass, wheaty malt, and a lively backbone of citrus fruit on the nose. not the best nose for a wheat beer but definitely not the worst. The aromas indicate a sweetness that encourages me for a taste.
T: Wheat forward along with hints of mild fruit. quite a disappointing mid-palate to say the least. Sweet malt dominate and a mild hop bitterness lingering in the finish. A bit tangy
M: Lively carbonation and medium bodied. Finishes slightly off-dry.
O: not a horrible beer by any means but not one I would choose to be my go-to. It does have a lovely complexity between the malt and fruit but it lacks in other areas. The nose is certainly the best feature of this brew.

A: A lightly hazy pale gold. The creamy white head is thin and doesn't last very long.
S: Moderate wheat malt and moderately-low citrus hops aroma.
T: There is a moderate soft malt flavor and slight more hops bitterness. The low hops flavor is citrusy. The balance is somewhat bitter. The finish is dry and the aftertaste is a of a light fruit ester.
M: Smooth medium bodied with moderately-high carbonation. A little creamy.
O: Not bad but it doesn't impress me; I'd like more hops flavor and aroma. An average American Wheat.

Pours a hazy yellow with a white head that falls to a thin cap. Aroma is of cloves and coriander. Light bodied with a sweet malt base that leads to fruity esters and has a pleasant wheat finish. Rather low carbonation for a beer of this style. The flavors are very delicate, it didn't hold up at all to food, however a very refreshing summer beer overall.

12oz bottle. Number 3 in the convenient mix pack.
This beer pours a slightly cloudy, pale straw colour, with one thin finger of fizzy white head, which leaves but a few specks of rapidly sinking lace around the glass in its equally hasty wake. It smells of very faint sweet wheat grain, and subtle savoury spice - coriander, mostly, a twinge of lemon. The taste is moderately sweet wheat, with bubblegum undertones, a bit of pale malt, and mild floral hops. The carbonation is on the low side, the body light, but not thin, and agreeably smooth. It finishes off-dry, the waning malt in good company with the already paltry offset.
It's American, it's pale, it's wheaty, and it's ostensibly an ale. It's the real deal, even if that seems all too anticlimactic.

DATE TASTED: January 25, 2014... GLASSWARE: 22 oz. pilsner...OCCASION: finishing Clash of Kings, I believe... APPEARANCE: hazy, bubbly, thin-headed sallow gold body; nondescript otherwise; no lacing... AROMA: somewhat pungent, lemon dish detergent scent; some lager malts provide a backbone; slightest banana and apple... PALATE: medium-bodied slightly effervescent; almost sudsy in its aftertaste--fizzy...TASTE: such subtle flavors--lightly lemon; predominantly metallic ping akin to a pilsner; lacking a refreshing, clean drag--just dragging... OVERALL: I understand the attempt is a wheat ale, but Wheat Monkey straddles the styles without pulling the better elements of either into my mouth; instead, it's more like monkeying around, making use of a playful label and silly enough name to attract attention--by far the weakest of what was a successful mix pack...

On tap at the brewery. Good marketing but this is an american sour wheat. Not so drinkable. Not as big a head as I expected.Sweetish malty aroma. Not as good as it smells.Citrus hops do not save it. Apparently many people do not like this and so a Belgian wit is available.

A- Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color with an off-white head.
S- The aroma is pale wheat malt, citrus and some yeast.
T- The taste is malt up front with some citrus zest and a hint of hops in the finish.
M- The mouthfeel is light bodied with a high amount of carbonation.
O- Overall, this one does exactly what it is intended to do. It is a light bodied, drinkable wheat beer that is perfect for the hot summer months.

On tap @ the Lakefront Brewery (Milwaukee, WI) on 8/8/10. Served in a clear plastic cup.
Pours a hazy gold, with a finger of bright-white head. The look here has the same fizzy looking retention and lacing that the cup of Klisch Pils I just drank before this had. The aroma smells of fruit, crisp wheat, a little honey, and some grassy tones. This is actually decent if you really get your nose in the glass.
The taste is about exactly the same as how the aroma came off, with notes of crisp bread, sugary honey, light fruit, and some flowery and earthy hop flavors. The mouthfeel is lighter-bodied, with a sharp smoothness to the carbonation which keeps this crisp in the mouth. Maybe a little too light and watery on the edges at times but overall not too bad.
Maybe it's the fact that this was on draft, where the flavors had some extra pop, but I actually didn't think this was too awful. This was easy drinking enough stuff and had just enough flavor to keep me interested on this warm summer day. Based on the reviews though, maybe I'll not push my luck and skip this one in the bottle...

Poured from a bottle to pint glass.
Pours hazy yellow, quite cloudy. No foam. Strong wheat nose. Slight citrus too. Taste is a light citrus lemon/orange. Very little bite. Kind of a flat taste. Like white bread. Barely can tell it is a beer. Very mild.
Liked the label, not impressed otherwise. Enh.
