Fixed Gear pours an amber color with a small head. There is a floral and harsh malty aroma. The taste has a nice mellow hop flavor with a harsher malty backbone. Nice full flavors, but the beer does go down a bit harsh. Overall its a nice hoppeir red ale.

I want to like this beer more than I do. It's a nice rich amber color with a thick white head that leaves a nice lacing in the glass. Smells like citrus and pine. Not much malt in the nose. Tastes like citrus and pine. There isn't much malt to back it up. I like a nice hoppy red ale and am partial to double IPAs, but this one just doesn't have enough balance going on for me. Great hop character, but no malt to back it up.

Mouthfeel is medium light with a touch of astringency. Finishes with clinging hoppiness.

Overall -- a bit more malt and this would be amazing, but its too unbalanced for me.

Dark amber copper color with a thick beige head with good retention and leaving laces.
Delicious citrus aroma of passion fruit with caramel and bready malt notes.
And it got even better, flavor of grapefruits balanced with slighted roasted malts and condimented yeast. Dry and bitter aftertaste with an acid bite.
Light body and perfect carbonation.
Very good amber/red ale, bold in malt, hops and yeast, and balancing it all. Also good for hopheads that want to have a rest from IPAs, the 54 IBU gets you fixed enough. Definitely worth it.

Pours a cloudy reddish-copper with a half finger of beige head that dissipated rather quickly. The nose has both malty and hoppy notes. The malt is certainly discernible in the flavor profile and there is a touch of sweetness that probably can be attributed to the malt. The finish is hoppy, but the bitterness is not as amped up as today's top tier reds.

Nevertheless, this is an enjoyable and refreshing example of one of my favorite styles.

a deep amber in color with almost 2 fingers of creme colored head, lots of nice sticky lacing left behind. malty caramel aromas, herbal tea notes, grassy, grapefruit citrus hint. this is a well balanced amber ale.. even sweetness and bitterness of malt and hops, with a nice grapefruit overtone.. caramel, bready, grassy, tea-like.. flavor and nose are identical.
this is a very refreshing medium bodied ale with medium carbonation and a nice semi-creamy mouthfeel.
this is a must go-to from now on. 6pk price is cheap enough and definitely a nice change of pace from my usual ipa styles that i tend to go for.
