Clear tawny hue, minimal lacing though it does not dissipate at all. Smells of pie spice, faint pumpkin meat and dried hay. Smooth with a light to medium body, dry maltiness has a few layers that unfold underneath the spicing. Toasted grain, a little bready and grassy as well. Pie spicing is quite prevalent yet not over powering, clove is more upfront than others. A bit of pumpkin flavor rounds the brew out. Finishes semi-dry with a tingle of pic spice.

Just beery enough and spicing is controlled, clean and drinkable for a spiced beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a heavy glass beer mug.

A - Pours a slightly hazy golden amber/straw color with an inch of bubbly white head that very quickly dissipated into a thin ring around the perimeter with no lacing to speak of.

S - Cinnamon, pie crust, pumpkin, nutmeg and a faint egg-nog creaminess. Sweet summer hay and a touch of citrus and vanilla finish the nose as the core pumpkin pie scents linger. Overall fairly standard for this style.

T - Lighter spice than the nose suggests, first coming on with cinnamon and malty crust with the pumpkin meat showing up not long after the initial sip. Finish is surprisingly dry yet sweet, with the spices and pumpkin lingering, joined by vanilla, clove and honey.

M - Lighter in body than one might expect, yet full and slightly creamy nonetheless. The 6% ABV enhances the sweeter flavors a bit with some added body and does a lot for this beer in my opinion.

O - Definitely spiced, definitely pumpkin, and definitely a lager. This beer feels slightly lighter but keeps a creamy body despite the easy drinkability and never feels overpowering. The high(er) ABV lends a bit of warmth to the finish and is reminiscent of classic Marzen-style lagers. Not an earth-shattering experience, but a very nice take on the style and lends enough uniqueness to outshine others in this genre.

Poured into a goblet......

A - Pours a very nice amber color, fizzy bubbles disappear quickly with no head.
S - Very pleasing aroma of spice & pumpkins.
T - Clean lager flavor, light feeling, with a moderate pumpkin flavor. Not strong on spices at all.
M - Light mouth feel and carbonation, flavor disappears quickly.
O - This beer was better than I expected. Good beer, quite drinkable, a good place to start for pumpkin beer newbies. While it's not at the top of the pumpkin beer list it's a good representation of the style. I'd drink it again.

I really enjoy the clean pumpkin flavor on this easy drinking lager, a little lighter in flavor than most but I like that it's different

I was introduced to this when it came out last year, but didn't realize it was a limited edition. When I came back it was gone and they said: try again next year. This year, I barely got the last six pack, or I would have bought more. I'm not usually a huge fan of pumpkin beers because they usually taste like somebody got out of hand with some pie spices and I can't really find the pumpkin in it... that is not the case here. It actually tastes of pumpkin. Good fresh lager and pumpkin. One of the things I especially like about this beer is it's elegance. There's not 1000 things going on to keep you from noticing the few that didn't go well.

It's cloudy in appearance, it's got a fresh pumpkiny smell, crisp apple notes at the front of the pallet, malty as it warms, strong pumpkin finish.

I'll be buying it again next year. :)

12oz bottle, from a Liquor Mart on south Colorado near my hotel in Denver last week. A pumpkin lager is a new one for me, I think.

This beer pours a slightly blurry, medium copper amber hue, with two fingers of puffy, tightly foamy, and mildly creamy dirty white head, which leaves a few specks of remote islet lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of vegetal pumpkin puree, clove, cinnamon, and ginger spice, bready pale malt, and a further singed brown sugar sweetness. The taste is more sugary pumpkin pie all the way - grainy malt, baked fleshy gourd, nutmeg, cinnamon and zesty ginger - with a certain metallic astringency - and a hint of muddled hop bitterness.

The bubbles are fairly frothy in their moderate bearing, the body a sturdy medium weight for a lager, and mostly smooth, the metallic nature near overcome by a low-key creaminess. It finishes off-dry, the lingering sweet pumpkin and bready malt shedding a large part of the spice.

A pleasant spiced seasonal pumpkin brew, you pretty much wouldn't know this was a lager unless the label said so - I've had plenty of lighter-seeming pumpkin ales. Perhaps a bit drier than the impression I have thus far given, which makes this something that I could see having a few of, come time to dole out the goods to the neighborhood kiddies.
