Poured into a pint glass

Appearance - Very Dark Orange and Cloudy. Looks very unfiltered and the head is around a quarter of a head thick that turns into a filmy cover after a couple of minutes.

Smell - Pumpkin, Spices, Yeasts and some barley. It's not robust but it's alright; Very simple scent for a pumpkin beer.

Taste - Spices, Pumpkin, Barley and Malts. The malty backbone is there, but it's not too sweet which actually works in it's favor here.

Mouthfeel - It's very crisp and light. So crisp in fact that you want to savor the feel of the beer. It's very rare for me to find a mouthfeel that actually feels good on the palate. The crispness is thanks to the well balanced carbonation which helps add some flavor to the beer without being too sharp.

Overall - A simple tasting pumpkin beer with a good taste and even better palate. Check it out if you get the chance.

A: Bright pumpkin orange, good clarity with a diminishing dirty white head that turned to a washy covering. Strong show of micro-effervesce, weak show of lacing.

S: Cinnamon sticks, applesauce, pumpkin puree and toasted pie crust on the nose are most evident upon immediate opening and pour. Strength quickly diminishes to a weak offering.

T: Flavor of sweet pumpkin, nice level and balance of spicing of cinnamon, all spice, toasty pumpkin and sweet malt. Pie crust, ginger spicing and a honey toffee sweetness.

M: Mouthful was of medium bodied, slightly malty and syrupy texture with a decent level of carbonation. Dry fade of spicy pumpkin finish.

O: Not going to bowl you over in the end, drinkable, spiced enough to give you some appreciation of that pumpkin feel and easy enough balanced for multiples. worthy a single try.

Poured into NB Globe. Appearance is a clear orange with a layer of white head. Some lacing present. Nose pairs familiar pumpkin spices along with a grainy lager base. Cinnamon and all spice come through the most. One significant difference between this and other pumpkin brews is having a lager as a base. This provides a grainy and bready profile instead of a sweet base. The taste features some brown sugar sweetness along with cinnamon. The spice is present but not in your face. The flavor tapers off and has a dry bready finish. Mouthfeel is light with moderate carbonation. Overall, I prefer my pumpkin brews in the form of ale, but this isn't a bad by any measure.

12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a medium orange with a slight chill haze. White half finger head settles to a thin cap over the beer. No lacing at all.

Aroma is extremely spicy. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice are extremely prominent. A little bit of gingerbread and citrus in the way of apples comes through as well.

On the taste, spice are once again up front really overwhelming all other flavors initially. Tons of cinnamon and allspice really lending a candy apple character to the beer. As the beer warms some more pumpkin character begins to come in with some graham cracker along with a bit of a "squashy" character. It is subtle however. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp like a lager should be and isn't too sweet or sticky.

Overall, a unique take on a pumpkin beer but the spices are a bit too much. I think if the spice was toned down it would allow more subtle characters to come through. Really nice job by Lakefront.

The weakness here is we got a lager. This is better than the average lager, but the lager has weaker flavor compared to the good ale pumpkin beers. However, this would do in a pinch. I would like this beer on a hot summer day. It's very refreshing. Goes down well with summer jazz fest music like Joe Zawinul music.

I get pumpkin spices, vanilla and a tart ginger. I get the ginger full on in the taste with hints of cinnamon and vanilla on the back end of the taste. The ginger is a great taste but becomes tart at time almost wine tart.

I get some caramel malts in there as well reminiscent of an Oktoberfest taste. Each times I take a sip I can smell the ginger in the nose. It really reminds me of the ginger sauce you find in Japanese restaurants. I'm not getting too much pumpkin just a vegetable pumpkin taste which is always good.

The spices outshine in this one and the ginger really in my opinion shines the most. Its good but just wish it was a bit less tart. It was an interesting beer that'd I'd have again next year at Halloween time no problem.

Pours like tea. Dark orange, minimal carbonation.

Smells like cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice. Aggressively spicy, and pretty generic. It's nice but not really even pumpkiny, just spicy.

Tastes like it smells. Not exactly bland, not exactly boilerplate, but not exactly well-brewed. It's all spice, only those spices are inexpertly measured and there's none of the tangy or mellow pumpkin nodes of other such brews to cut into the aggressive cinnamon and nutmeg nodes.

It's like a pumpkin pie baked by a middle school home ec class. It's edible, since it's pumpkin pie and honestly I'd eat pumpkin pie that had been dropped on the floor. But the seasoning hints towards a complete lack of experience on behalf of the people who baked it, like they just raided the spice cabinet and started pouring things in all willy nilly.

Poured into a glass mug.

A: Clear light orange with two-finger, white frothy head that lasted a couple of minutes. Okay lacing.

S: Pumpkin and lots of cinnamon and spice. Nice.

T: Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. A little too much cinnamon actually. It's overpowering the pumpkin. Not bad though.

M: Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation.

O: This isn't amazing but it was better than the couple of pumpkin ales I had the other night. The pumpkin and spice aroma is great.

Appearance: minimal head, orange-brown in color, hazy, low carbonation

Smell: big and rich pumpkin spice

Taste: bark, clove, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice

Mouthfeel: sweet with slight bitterness in the background, low carbonation, medium-light bodied

Overall: An average pumpkin beer that smells really good but the taste does not follow up at the same level. Not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary. I will pass in the future.
