From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #67 (August 2012):
LOOK: Fizzy lace, big bubbled, cloudy straw
SMELL: Chalky yeast, mineral, peppery phenols, taffy, ripe fruit, grainy, floral
TASTE: Very crisp, long slickness, wet body, very grainy, crackers, overly yeasty, spicy, very dry, salt, dried grass, modest hopping, faint esters, powdered clove, banana pith
Respect for Lakefront for brewing with all local ingredients. Unfortunately, the beer lands, at best, within the middle of the pack for the Hefeweizen style. Lacking head retention due to an overly expressive yeast takes away from this beer and the drinkability it should wield. Good flavors here and there, but nothing really seems to mesh 100 percent. Perhaps this beer should be marketed as an American Farmhouse Ale?

I had this beer on-tap in a big taster glass at Oregon Brewers Festival.
Appearance: a very pale straw hue with a tiny hint of haze and a light effervescence. Not too bad.
Smell: lightly refreshing wheat aroma with a tiny hint of sourness. Not bad.
Taste: mild flavor but with a very refreshing wheaty character. More of an American pale wheat ale than a hefeweizen, but I like it nonetheless.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a light carbonation that nontheless develops a nice creaminess.
Overall: this is a highly drinkable wheat beer; I could definitely see it being a summer staple.
