A: Poured into the Black Friday pint glass with some power behind it, the beer poured a big 3 finger tall head that sustained nicely. Tan to khaki in color the foam left spotty lacing on the edge as it fell. The beer is a dark, dark maroon when held to the light, it looks clear from what I can tell.
S: Big resinous, grapefruit and pine hop aroma sitting on top of a roasty malt aroma. Also getting mild coffee, anise and cinnamon? Sweeter smelling, no alcohol detected.
T: Roasty malts sit on top of a firm pine and citrus bitterness. Dark stone fruit flavors very up front, plums, prunes giving a bit of sweetness in the middle. As the darker roasty malts wear down the palette the bitterness and hop flavors are less noticable in the beginning and more so in the finish, which is pine and resien tasting. Finally the after taste comes through as a chocolate and caramel flavor.
M: A creamy mouthfeel with this one. Higher end of the scale carbonation and a big body. Also a touch of alcohol warming.
O: After Standing in line for an hour in 10F weather talking to fellow beer nerds it was easily worth the wait. A different beer then a big IBA overall complexity was nice and balanced. For a style that I've given more chances then I'd like to admit, I'd wait in line again for this one. Cheers Lake Front!

22 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Reviewed from notes(11/24/12)
A. It pours a deep dark brown with a thick llight brown head that lasts and produced lacing.
S. It smells of hops and transitions into a citrus fruit flavor. It smells sweeter than I excpected.
T. It starts with some toasted malt followed by some sweet citrus fruit and finishing with some hops and just a touch of warmth.
M. It has a medium to heavy body with a creamy finish.
Overall. I really enjoyed this beer it was very well balanced with malt and hops and hidesthe alcohol making this very drinkable amd worth standing outside in the cold to get it.

Certainly worth the wait...
A- Dark and opaque with a creamy brown colored thick lace
S- mildly hoppy with a bit of citrus and a bit of espresso
T- While the hop presence was not as strong as I had hoped, the semi-citrus and maltiness really tingled the taste buds. There is also a bit of fruit in there that really encouraged tropical notes. There was also this savoriness to this beer not found as often (umami anyone?).
M- Gentle, smooth with just a ting of hop finish. Left my mouth salivating and warm.
O- Definitely not a green brew I expected. Sure am happy there is another waiting for me. I look forward to aging the last one.

A: Not quite black, but a deep, rich brown. Nearly opaque, some light penetrates but not much. Light white head that rings the glass and persists well. After a sip, the head returns briefly, like its refreshing the glass.
S: Amazingly fresh and ultra hoppy. Some floral in there too, and maybe a slight citrus nose.
T: Hops, and lots of them. Extremely well blended, tastes like I'm chewing on a hops flower! There's a hint of barley in there as well.
M: Smooth and thick. Not what I was expecting but very nice.
Overall: A fantastic brew from Lakefront. Absolutely delicious and unique. They should be selling this one more than just one day a year.
