12 Bottle poured into a Lakefront pint glass.
Appearance: Looks like I took a bottle of dark motor oil and poured it into my glass. Small amount of foam has a slightly brownish, reddish twinge to it. Foam lingers, but not overwhelmingly so.
Smell: I pick up a little bit of the cherries, but otherwise the standard chocolatey smell. More bitter chocolate than sweet.
Taste: Definitely has a bitter chocolate taste to it. Not TOO bitter, but with a little bit of a sweet bit to it that helps to counter the almost powdery-chocolate edge. If this is indeed 10% ABV, they did a GREAT job of covering that up. Goes down pretty easily.
Mouthfeel: Pretty smooth, but does leave an aftertaste that I can't quite put my finger... or tongue... on. Maybe a little bit of the cherry coming through again?
Overall: Decent. I probably won't get another 4 pack of this, but I'll definitely enjoy the other three bottles that I picked up in the 4 pack.

12 oz. bottle, with the label notched at bottled on the first week of March 2013, so this beer is about a year old. Another new beer to me from Lakefront Brewery, the second of their 25th anniversary beers for me. Expectations are good; the premise sounds delicious.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - Pours a beautiful dark mahogany brown color, just a shade away from opaque in the glass. One finger of fluffy bubbly caramel chocolate colored head. Thin scattered lacing. Looks pretty nice.
S - Smell isn't quite on par with what I was expecting, but it's pleasant enough. The cocoa comes through very dry and bitter, with the mildly tart, slightly medicinal cherry puree coming in second. Boozy rum raisin, some woodiness, and some earthy yeast / band-aid presence. I'm not getting much in the way of vanilla or bourbon barrel, though.
T - Taste is a step back up from the aroma. The tart juicy cherry puree is nicely integrated with the cocoa nibs and vanilla, and all three come through nicely. The cocoa finishes very bitter, the cherries tart, and the vanilla creamy. Dark, roasty, & bitter.
M - Feel is smooth, creamy, & silky, with a dry, powdery, bitter, chocolatey finish. Not hot or boozy at all. Perfect carbonation.
Overall, a very nice imperial stout from Lakefront Brewery that has aged gracefully this past year. This has probably been my favorite of their beers, out of the ones I have tried so far. I would have it again, and I might be interested to see how it continues to age. Recommended.
